I am doing exactly the same!

Why do people want to watch torture and general horribleness???

YANBU.dp is trying to persuade me to watch it.I don't do grim torture bloodfest movies. He says it was to get me back after I got Cloverfield out on DVD,which was, admittedly one of the crappest ,ovies I have ever seen.

I made dh take me to the cinema to see it!

I would be pretty worried if my dh wanted to watch people being hurt for fun. I honesty think that films like this are a sign of something bad happening to our society.

....I thought only pimply 14 year olds watched the 'Saw' films.

...they are, so far as I can ascertain, formulaic and devoid of merit.

I'm reminded of secondary school, where tatty copies of James Herbert books were surrupticiously swapped (and fell open at the dirty and/or gory bits..)

DH is watching it in the lounge, I'm safe in the kitchen watching XFactor. DH tried to convince me it's a 'good' gory movie, has 4 stars in the Radio Times and everything......

nah, will stick with MN and Xfactor

naaaaah, I don't think so! but I do retain imagery very well and it 'stays' with me, which is why I choose not to add to the scary stuff in my head already.

...can you ask him if he has any old James Herbert books?

(and if so, may I borrow them. Ahem)

I believe he has many comics, oh no sorry graphic novels if that helps?

My best friend loves these films, she likes anything gory. I love things like dirty dancing, mama mia, love actually etc.

Opposites attract

Ive set the timer to record saw2 tomorrow. Tbh, I did not find it scary. The film on bbc1 looks like it has been quite scary though!

Glad it's not just me. I came in here and went online about and hour ago, having got up to the bit where the guy jumps out of the little girl's wardrobe and ties her and her mum up. Was literally in tears and needed a whisky.

I cannot watch anything like that since having DD (4.1), and cannot understand why hubby is so keen on them. (Well, can a bit from a storyline point of view but still won't be seeing anymore of it/them)
