Arh I am a devoted doggy owner and people forget that dogs are hard work and dog sitting is putting on people...my dog is too barmy to be left with anyone but a saint. Just do the minimum for it, lock it out of the room you are in and can you find a local dog walker to come in? They usually charge a fiver per walk....

I know its your parents and everything but seems unfair to ask you to do this 3wks of the year shock.

If you have pets, part of the cost of holidays is to plan pet care, cattery/ kennels/ professional sitters. We budget for this for the cat every time.

Definately YANBU! am similarly pregnant and couldnt think of anything worse, especially if you cant go anywhere!

my DH makes extra money for dog-sitting.

he doesn't do it for free, that's for sure.

i'm with tess here. it's a fiver a walk or £3/dog if more than one.

it's a tenner a day for two walks + feeding and watering and a bit of stroke time.
