why do they do it?

and no my sil doesn't not buy clothes from there before you ask, although it might be because they don't go up to her size wink lol only joking

but seriously those clothes are so tacky and cheap

I clicked on this convinced it must be another thread started by Plumandolive!

Anyway, I agree. But mostly because I stopped being able to fit into anything they would ever make about, erm, 10 years ago.

forevercleaning Mon 13-Oct-08 15:52:12

never bought anything in there. Doubt I ever will either. ver ver common smile

minorbirdOnElmstreet Mon 13-Oct-08 15:59:53

Well, I wear Jane Norman clothes and look nowt like Liz Mcdonald. So yes YABU.

paddingtonbear1 Mon 13-Oct-08 16:03:48

I used to like them, when I was thinner
They do some pretty good basic black trousers. In shorter length too!

Lauriefairycake Mon 13-Oct-08 16:07:59

I know neither Jane or Liz hmm

are they mumsnetters?

who wear the same clothes?

is Liz stalking Jane?

plumandolive Mon 13-Oct-08 16:44:51

sycamore- how vvery! I do post on other erudite subjects you know.
but maggot I tend to agree with you

plumandolive Mon 13-Oct-08 16:45:49

It's the shiny leopardy bits....and biggish 80's hair

MrsMattie Mon 13-Oct-08 16:46:09

Isn't it for very young women / girls?

I can't imagie anyone over 25 shopping there and looking good.

anyfucker Mon 13-Oct-08 16:47:32

oh yes, I have posted my irrational (rational ?) hate for all things Jane N before

(not so) cheap tat IMHO

often seem to be in eye-watering colour combos such as yellow and black (I dont want to look like a rotten banana) and acid-bright pink/black

DrNortherner Mon 13-Oct-08 16:48:17

Well I have the odd top from there and a coat actually, I look nothing like Liz.

DrNortherner Mon 13-Oct-08 16:48:53

Would never dress in JN head to toe mind you, but much preferable to Monsoon and Per Una.....

VinegARGHHHTits Mon 13-Oct-08 16:50:34

I am all for cheap clothes, not tacky though but how nice it must be to be able to afford expensive non tacky clothes hmm and be perfect enough to judge those with no money or taste yabu.

PuzzleRocks Mon 13-Oct-08 16:52:47

Oh dear. I got married in a Jane Norman dress. Black cocktail, very tasteful.
Oh, I also got married in Vegas so I suppose I am irredeemably vulgar. hmm

anyfucker Mon 13-Oct-08 16:55:28

lol, didn't mean to cause offence

I shop in New Look btw

there is just summat about Jane N I cant stand

probably the fact that I am far too old to shop there sad

rolledhedgehog Mon 13-Oct-08 16:56:19

They are for young girls/women with nice figures not old cows like me...I would say anyone of Liz McDonald's vintage should walk past the shop and keep walking! Have heard Jane Norman is doing incredibly well and they don't advertise either so someone loves the clothes.

Libra1975 Mon 13-Oct-08 16:58:50

I would like to be slim enough to be able to fit into Jane Norman clothes...

PuzzleRocks Mon 13-Oct-08 16:59:13

No offence taken here smile. A lot of their stuff is nasty.

Sycamoretree Mon 13-Oct-08 16:59:43

Yes Puzzle, I'm afraid there is officially no hope for you.

But you are probably very thin and gorgeous with the body of a Hollyoaks star, but the class of Nicole Kidman. I'm sure you rocked it.

And Plum <snurk> I knew this one would draw you out! grin
