To hate the misuse of words such as 'erudite'?

malapropism is another often abused word, often incorrectly spelt.

Is it a bandwagon thing and an attempt to make posts look more smarter.

Where are you seeing malapropism in posts? How would one be using it in posts about annoying mothers-in-law and unhelpful husbands?

I would suggest that you post this in Pedants Corner expect that the inhabitants would eat you alive for your use of 'more smarter' and the missing question mark after the second sentence of your post.

I was about to say that I'm sure 'more smarter' was a joke.

I'm shore I have no idea what malapropism means and as for 'erudite' I've never found a better make of glue for quick repairs.
