exH has had the boys since yesteday morning. He initially said that he'd bring them back between 5 and 6pm this evening, but as I had an evening service to play for I asked him if he could make it after 7pm to make it easier for me,

He agreed. This weekend I've changed all their bedding, got clean towels and PJ's out and I've got a bath run ready for them to jump into when they get home........except they're not back yet.

Bedtime is usually 8pm - and although I don't mind them being a bit late, having a bath would make them very late - so they're not going to get one. I had it all planned out, clean bedding etc and nice clean boys to jump into them all - but now they won't and I'm p*ssed off.

I know I'm being completely UR as it was me that asked for after 7pm (and generally if we say after 7 it's usually closer to 8) - and I know that he'll have left it until later in case my evening service has run over (as it frequently does - there's been occasions when I haven't got home until 7.30pm).

I just feel all "arghh" that they won't get their bath (which is totally daft I know - they had a good scrub Friday night - and are usually bathed once every other night - and aren't going to be filthy as the weather has been awful so they will have been inside).

can understand your rant, but i'm sure a slightly late bedtime to squeeze in a quick bath wont hurt too much, or skipping bath wont hurt either!! My son used to only have 1,possibly 2 baths a week as i hated fighting him into it, he loved a scrub down at the sink instead!!

pipsqueak - I can't get all 3 of them bathed and ready for bed in 5 minutes - DS1 does himself - and takes ages.

Anyhow, they're back and in bed - but not without DS2 (usually a real mummy's boy, especially when he comes back from a weekend with daddy) totally ignoring me and not doing as he's told, and DS1 telling me this house is boring, and that he hates living here

anniemac - I would do - except I can't bear the thought of a tired grumpy DS3 for the day on the Monday after he's been got up 2hrs earlier than he's used to to make sure that exH can get the boys ready in the car, through the rush hour traffic and drop them off on time at school (the traffic from his town to ours is appalling in the mornings).

Is certainly a possibility for once they're all at school - but that's a few years down the line yet - DS3 is only 16 months lol.

Although as a plus point the first thing exH said as he handed DS3 back to me when they first arrived home was "I think he missed you" awwww - according to DS1 and 2 he spent the first part of Saturday with him calling for me - and then again Sunday evening before they came home was calling "mama" - awwwwwwwwwwww

I don't know what was up with them last night, DS2 is a complete mummy's boy usually - and this is the first time he's come back and ignored me - usually he can't get enough of me lol. And DS1 is talking to me again today, telling me how "cool" his room is blah blah blah
