I've just given my bosses the evidence they needed to sack my colleague :-(

I feel awful as she was an ok person and have worked with her for a few years.

Thing is she was doing something wrong, although not harming anyone really, and they needed my confirmation of it.

Feel really bad now, even though I was just telling the truth

you shouldn't, if she was doing something wrong and you told the truth, you did the right thing.

Mum2OliverJames Thu 25-Sep-08 15:55:49

oh dear you have opened a canofworms grin

what she do? [nosey emotion]

Mum2OliverJames Thu 25-Sep-08 15:56:24

btw i think you did the right thing too

what she do grin

canofworms Thu 25-Sep-08 15:57:19

I can't really tell you for legal reasons (that sounds fancy doesn't it!). Also worried she may be a mumsnetter

imananny Thu 25-Sep-08 15:57:29

what was she doing?

As WWW said, you didn't do anything wrong, you told the truth, and maybe if you hadnt, you might have got the blame, and been sacked yourself

forevercleaning Thu 25-Sep-08 15:58:24

Tigerschick Thu 25-Sep-08 15:58:47

You did the right thing.
Don't blame you for feeling bad about it - but you did do the right thing.

Maybe sharing the details would help ... grinwink[nosey]

Mum2OliverJames Thu 25-Sep-08 15:59:04

awww sad i love a bit of juicy gossip

i bet she was stealing staples out of the stationary cupboard wasnt she grin

(nod once for yes twice for no)

Tigerschick Thu 25-Sep-08 15:59:52

LOL at all the x-posts grin

canofworms Thu 25-Sep-08 16:00:33

Ha ha!

I only work in a small place and there are only 5 of us in our team. That makes it worse I think.

It was nothing vastly wrong just taking the p* really

Charlee Thu 25-Sep-08 16:01:34

If she was doing something wrong then she needed to be stopped so altough you feel like a bad person you are not.

[Charlee whispers - was she peeing in water cooler?]

ScottishMummy Thu 25-Sep-08 16:02:27

never pleasant to be involved in any disciplinary action, will she get suspended, union representation etc

Idobelieveinfairies Thu 25-Sep-08 16:02:37

i BET she was on mumsnet all of the time! grin

forevercleaning Thu 25-Sep-08 16:04:47

oh its not me then with only 5 working there. I shall continue to pilfer the odd envelope..

Charlee Thu 25-Sep-08 16:05:02

Was she leaving Raunchy Post-it notes on someones pc? grin

Mum2OliverJames Thu 25-Sep-08 16:06:16

i bet she has been photocopying her bum grin

Charlee Thu 25-Sep-08 16:06:36

Or her boobs

Idobelieveinfairies Thu 25-Sep-08 16:08:26

So she must have been warned about this before hand you know formal warning and such?

Give is a letter to work with would you!?!?!

Does it involve a peice of office machinery??

Idobelieveinfairies Thu 25-Sep-08 16:09:01

i meant us..i like this game...but i have to start dinner soon sad

canofworms Thu 25-Sep-08 16:12:40

This is cheering me up no end! I seriously can't tell you but it is so mundane compared to what you lot are coming out with!

And yes, it's been down the warning/union rep/disciplinary line and all they needed was my word.

canofworms Thu 25-Sep-08 16:13:47

Oh, and I have to go out for 2 hours now so I'll see what other suggestions have been made when I return grin

And thanks for making me feel better smile

Idobelieveinfairies Thu 25-Sep-08 16:14:22

Ahhh it is a shame and we shouldn't be joking about it really....but she was warned!
