There is a little girl at dd's school (reception class), she has lovely blonde hair but her mum does'nt brush it, this morning it looked like she had dreds, it upsets me that her mother can send her to school looking like she's been dragged through a hedge.

I know they don't like having there hair brushed but i always send dd in looking tidy.

I just feel like taking a brush to her (i would'nt)

AIBU?

I don't brush DS3's hair - he's mixed race - and if I do try and brush it it ends up looking like a gone wrong afro

maybe that is just the type of hair she has? dd1 used to go to preschool looking like she parachuted in as her hair only looked tidy after washing, combing with conditioner and blwodrying.

and i aint doing that every morning ladies!

It does'nt look as bad if they have curly/afro hair but this little girl has thin blonde hair, her mother looks a mess too but she manges to bush her own hair (but maybe not wash it). i just feel sorry for the girl as the other girls have started saying she has nits etc..

Maybe she is having probs with dd in the morning and in a few weeks she will have it brushed daily? Dd has been to school twice already with unbrushed hair and teeth , as I just couldn't take/we didn't have any more time left for any more tantrums, as we would have been incredibly late!

no it's not a proper little Afro - although he looks like he's got a lot of hair on his head, some areas it's still very short - the rest is very tight curls - but it's not really corse mixed race hair, it's a sort of mixture - and if I brush it all the tight little curls frizz up into an out of control afro type look (but very sparse )

You know what
If you took a brush to it it would just be a huge ball of frizz!#
Dd has this hair
I spend half my life unpicking dreads
You CANNOT brush this sort of hair

I will put a pic of her on my profile with her mad hair

I would'nt be suprised if she has got nits, i see your point that she might be playing up in the mornings hense not getting around to brushing it but i would say it has'nt been brushed for a long while.

Oh god, are the mum's at school saying this about me too? I go to the gym when I drop her off (only one more week of this bliss tho until work!) and so shower/put my make up on there, so have raked back hair in the morning but it is better when I pick her up!!

I brush my dd2's hair every morning and by the time she gets to school (a short 5 minute walk) it looks like she's just got out of bed.

I think you should get a life. WHat business is it of yours how another child's hair looks? Oh and if you;re going to whine about nits bear in mind that nits adore lovely shiny 100-strokes-a-night brushed hair as well so your DC will get them at some point anyway.

in my defence - could do with a wash but as am going to work after and have to shower just before i go will d it then.
neither of us are at our best that early.

My God daughter has the same hair FAQ she has real tight curls I used to hate doing her Hair in the morning when I took her to school It was a nightmare. Ummm Her cousins hair is just thick straight hair and its more to the fact her mum can't be arsed to deal with it in the mornings which ends up with her hair matted

She's such a pretty little thing but always looks grubby, she has a baby sister who always looks tidy but is always wearing the same dirty socks (she's only a baby)

thin blonde hair? dd1. check. matts really easily.dd2s looked like it was going the same way until i chopped a load of it off

i really used to worry that people would be thinking exactly what you are thinking OP - even now I will shamelessly use the straightners on dd1s hair if it is a bit wild looking (she is 6).

you really don't know if the little girls hair is messy for the reason you suspect
