Love Dualit toasters and get very excited about them myself! Went in with some friends to get one for a wedding present the other day and the boyfriend of my friend was going about the miracle toast that it must produce at that price and of course he is right but still think they are fab. What a lovely DH you have!

SmallShips Tue 16-Sep-08 21:46:32

what do they do? Toast is toast is it not?

hotbot Tue 16-Sep-08 21:46:38

ohh le creuset.....mmmm
i spent a fortune on cook stuff 15 yrs ago when first married still looks fab and still using it now. imvho sometimes its worth it to buy the best you can afford if yuo know it will last
unless its frying pans - with me we just dont get on... so cheapy ones that are virtually disposable

moondog Tue 16-Sep-08 21:47:08

I've got one. i bloody love it.

Hulababy Tue 16-Sep-08 21:48:19

We have one too; it is fab

stealthsquiggle Tue 16-Sep-08 21:52:37

No no no YANBU. 'tis definitely something to be excited about. It is an investment as well - ours is 10 years old and still going strong

<<whispers - DH bought me a Dualit waffle maker for Christmas last year (we already had the toaster) grin>>

I have one too, 4 slice chrome with 2 cages and a kettle too. Every time dh uses it we have the same argument.
He always burns his, and says for the price it should have an alarm before it starts to burn.
I love it and have never burnt anythingg.
I bought it with my last chunk of mat pay, from my mums shop.
I only got a very small discount too,as not much to be made on electricals.

benbon Tue 16-Sep-08 21:58:12

ooops dont know what happened there sorry

SmallShips Tue 16-Sep-08 22:02:19

i still dont understand, what am i missing out on here?! I have a £6 toaster from Asda, bought 5 years ago, its still alive. What does it do?!

no1putsbabyinthecorner Tue 16-Sep-08 22:11:48

NOT much from yours tbh.
I try to justify it to dh but he wont have it.
The only thing i can think of is that you dont have to have all 4 elements on at once if you just want 1 slice of toast.
oh and the cage things for toasted sandwhiches.

I had never heard of them before. I just googled "dualit toaster" and......

Saturn74 Tue 16-Sep-08 22:26:02

late-night tea and toast is one of my vices.

pamelat Wed 17-Sep-08 19:24:54

We got one as a wedding gift, love it love it love - don't really care how it toasts the bread wink

brimfull Wed 17-Sep-08 19:30:36

ours occasionally only toasts one side

tis very tempermental and annoying

Ashantai Wed 17-Sep-08 20:02:58

If my oh had bought me a toaster for my birthday, i'd toast his dangly bits in it!!!!{grin]

Anna8888 Wed 17-Sep-08 20:04:41

They are beautiful. I used to have one. But it used to fuse the whole place when we put baguette in it sad.

So now we have an ugly cheapo toaster.

Guadalupe Wed 17-Sep-08 20:05:22

I love mine, bt dh always sticks it on the one slice setting and I don't notice and one piece toasts while the other just burns on one side.

DCs LOVE pinging their crumpets out with the lever too.
