It's just so annoying...

YABU - you need to find a proper outlet for your irritation grin

It's not that annoying. I agree with hmc.

I just keep starting to post and then realise it's that same topic covered months ago. I then may have a different view and look like a fool, a very large pregnant one! wink

I have recently been reading old threads .. they are far superior to new threads

you should try it

hullygully Sat 13-Sep-08 20:37:18

It's very annoying. I have reported it several times. I reported it months ago and I am reporting it now.

what Twig said.

Newbies just can't get it right can they? If they start a thread on a subject that's been done before, they get told to search the archives. If they do search the archives, find a relevant thread and then dare to add a post to it, they get told off for resurrecting ancient threads.

Why is it annoying anyway?

coppertop Sat 13-Sep-08 20:38:22

<checks start date of this thread to make sure it's safe to post on it>

slayerette Sat 13-Sep-08 20:38:50

In a few months time I am going to resurrect this thread.

Just 'cause of the irony...

Twiglett Sat 13-Sep-08 20:38:51

particularly ones hI'm on I must say <haw haw haw>

AnotherFineMess Sat 13-Sep-08 20:39:02

I wish s/he hadn't, I'd missed it first time around but am now sitting here blushing as I recall an awful potty-training incident.

I'm not against it in principle though, you can sometimes see some interesting threads that way.

RustyBear Sat 13-Sep-08 20:39:18

If you start to post on the thread, then you obviously haven't read the start date either.....

Twelvelegs Sat 13-Sep-08 20:40:05

Just a light annoyance really! Still perhaps I will resurrect an old controversial one, at least!!

Twelvelegs Sat 13-Sep-08 20:41:02

Shhh, RustyBear grin

pushchair Sat 13-Sep-08 20:41:23

Are newbies allowed to post or should they just read the 'wisdom' of the oldies? I feel a thread coming on. Hang on just off to research that.....

coppertop Sat 13-Sep-08 20:42:08

<wheels Pushchair away to the archives to check> wink

StealthPolarBear Sat 13-Sep-08 20:42:19

you reported a post because it was on an old thread???
What's wrong with resurrecting old threads?

pushchair Sat 13-Sep-08 20:44:20

Squeak squeak

PinkTulips Sat 13-Sep-08 20:44:34

i rarely use the topic lists so when i do i sometimes forget that the threads can be fairly old. also, if you search for something and the date is close to right month wise but the wrong year that could throw you off..... not that i've done that or anything blush

Twelvelegs Sat 13-Sep-08 20:44:46

Damn I knew I should have checked the archives oin this topic before starting a thread.

southeastastra Sat 13-Sep-08 20:46:24

i felt sorry for someone who posted on an old pregnancy thread, i hope someone answered her i bumped it

bloomingfedup Sat 13-Sep-08 20:51:44

YABU. What is annoying is OP starting a faarking thread about a non-subject.hmm

potatofactory Sat 13-Sep-08 20:53:09

You are MAD. Who cares? What the hell is wrong with resurrecting old threads? I have never been so rude on a thread before, but, what's WRONG with you?
