I.E. Ask an AIBU? that will get a resounding YABU then reveal details to let us see why actually YANBU but missed the important bits out of the op.

Like this one from Scottishmummy.

AIBU - my MIL (always)wont come and see me despite having gammy legs, bad teeth and one eye

YABU

OP (eventually)but MIL is a conniving miserable manipulative woman who locks my children in the cupboard and beats them.she has gammy legs running away from social workers who rescued dc

weeell had you mentioned that to begin with.....

AIBU To not want to take dd to school the rest of the week?

YABU She needs her schooling.

BUT! She goes to school on the titanic and it's 13th April 1912.

hecate Tue 02-Sep-08 12:21:26

well, we coooould...but it seems like a lot of effort to go to.

OTOH, we could just say that anything not mentioned in the op will not be taken into consideration if you mention it further on in a desperate and manipulative attempt to get us on side. And that nobody will care if 300 posts into a huge row about whether you are unreasonable to kill your mil because she brought you tea instead of coffee, you suddenly reveal that you lost a leg in a freak backgammon accident, your cat has been stuck up a tree since february and because we didn't agree with you, we just made you cry.

pmsl vs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hecate Tue 02-Sep-08 12:32:25

WELL DON'T ASK IF YOU'RE BEING FECKING UNREASONABLE THEN, Y'TWONK!!! Post saying you're feeling miserable and want a moan!

well i just did exactly that hecate-downright BEGGED for a shoulder to cry on and was told i was over sentimental, mawkish and in the future would be embarrassed by my feelings!

FrannyandZooey Tue 02-Sep-08 12:36:22

FrannyandZooey Tue 02-Sep-08 12:37:24

AIBU to fucking hate Cod?....

.....or in fact eating any type of seafood?

hecate Tue 02-Sep-08 12:38:08

You never did?

How awful.

People should ALWAYS be able to share their feelings and find a shoulder. It's part of why MN is bloody HERE ffs.

(I am PRAYING I was not on that thread.)

moopdaloop Tue 02-Sep-08 12:39:09

oh god your child went to school, have a weep and get over it - you don't need a shoulder to cry on nor endless tea and sympathy, nothing bad has happened

moop-are you being MY stalker? how lovely that got a stalker all of my own after all my time stalking other epople!

thumbwitch Tue 02-Sep-08 12:40:59

AIBU to expect DH to do the fecking hoovering once in a while?

YANBU

But he does all the cooking and (eventually) washing up and works all day

So perhaps just a wee bit U then grin!

moopdaloop Tue 02-Sep-08 12:44:49

sorry to disappoint but no I'm not stalking you, I didn't even know you were on the "kids gone to school boo-hoo" (hope you can take paraphrase as the joke its intended to be) thread till I read you complaining about my response to the general comments on that thread (not any specific person) here.

Ronaldinhio Tue 02-Sep-08 12:46:17

AIBU to want a new house AGAIN???

It's just this one's all full of water and I live in New Oleans

hecate Tue 02-Sep-08 12:48:14

Don't be a shit, moop.

TMMS - when my ds1 went to childminder for first time, I cried into the packed lunch I was making him "This is his first packed luck, he's not a baby any more" waah, waah, sob, sniffle. It's perfectly normal, perfectly valid and nothing to be made to feel bad about.

So there.

moopdaloop Tue 02-Sep-08 12:55:09

- checks site for babycentre logo

VinegarTits Tue 02-Sep-08 12:56:12

AIBU to think MN is full of HAGS??

YABU how dare you insult me angry

No i mean HAGS as in Happy Always Go-lucky Smiley mums

Oh, then yes YABU cos its full of old witches grin

OrmIrian Tue 02-Sep-08 12:58:09

YANBU. At all.

If I am being asked to jump in with my size 9s it's unfair to have the rug pulled from under me by facts!

VictorianSqualor Tue 02-Sep-08 12:59:54

hmm Don't see why on earth tmmj/s is getting slated here.....

AIBU To refuse to let DH leave the baby in his bouncer whilst he makes dinner?

YABU

BUT! My house is falling down as it is and the bouncer string has broken and DS is 15.
