I don't think wii's are presents, I think they're household appliances - games for it that only one person plays is a proper present.

I would sell it on ebay in a couple of months (without opening it) when they're scarce for Christmas and buy myself some nice jewellery.

It is your present to do what you want with.

Buy him some earrings for his. He'll get the hint.

Oh, and you are NBU. Not because he didn't get you anything, as gifts aren't always necessary etc, but because he got himself one under the pretence it's for you imo.

That said, wii's are nice, you might come to like it.

If it makes you feel better I was bought a food blender!

Rather nice, not cheap but still a kitchen appliance!

wii's are great fun, the whole family love ours but it is not an individual present.

If you buy someone a present intending to use it mostly yourself you're not very sensitive. And I would lay a bet the OP's dh will be using it more than her.

I was given 10 items from poundland on my first birthday after our wedding, and it was two weeks after I had given birth!!!

Flog them both on ebay, would teach him not to buy YOU something HE wants!

YOu are lucky, though, they are expensive gifts. My dh got me a handheld hoover from asda...

Look up and see if you can find a game you do want and then say thanks to your mother, but explain that you would rather have a different game and would she mind if you exchanged it.

Get the receipt and change it for somethign you do want. Your husband will understand because he will obviously want you to have something you like. Infact there's no need to even tell him, just do it.

YABU , at least he got you something.and yes you are being ungrateful. some people cant afford it, or oh's just dont get them anything.

pull yourself together. either sell it, use it, or hit oh over head with it.

any which way . . think yourself lucky and stop moaning.

starving children and all that....
