marriage, meh it's all down hill from here y'know.

don't mind me i am divorced.

no a very personal present AT ALL sad

Lauriefairycake Mon 01-Sep-08 18:41:18

I don't think wii's are presents, I think they're household appliances - games for it that only one person plays is a proper present.

I would sell it on ebay in a couple of months (without opening it) when they're scarce for Christmas and buy myself some nice jewellery.

It is your present to do what you want with.

You never wanted one? Well you can send it back and get the money then. grin

welcome to the birthdays of married life grin

it's history, all those romantic gifts now. Think yourself lucky, next year it will prob be a food mixer

SalLikesCoffee Mon 01-Sep-08 18:59:14

Buy him some earrings for his. He'll get the hint.

SalLikesCoffee Mon 01-Sep-08 19:01:59

Oh, and you are NBU. Not because he didn't get you anything, as gifts aren't always necessary etc, but because he got himself one under the pretence it's for you imo.

That said, wii's are nice, you might come to like it.

hollyandnoah Mon 01-Sep-08 19:04:15

Wish my oh would buy me a wii! They are great fun.

benbon Mon 01-Sep-08 19:04:52

well i will just have to buy him that puppy he doesnt want for his birthday...

pamelat Mon 01-Sep-08 19:06:36

If it makes you feel better I was bought a food blender!

Rather nice, not cheap but still a kitchen appliance!

Lauriefairycake Mon 01-Sep-08 19:11:35

wii's are great fun, the whole family love ours but it is not an individual present.

If you buy someone a present intending to use it mostly yourself you're not very sensitive. And I would lay a bet the OP's dh will be using it more than her.

blowsy Mon 01-Sep-08 19:18:44

That's a bit pants.

Sulk until he gets you something better grin

For his birthday get him some tampons, a vibrator and a foot sauna.

noonki Mon 01-Sep-08 19:28:16

YANBU - make him pay!

I was given 10 items from poundland on my first birthday after our wedding, and it was two weeks after I had given birth!!!

shatteredmumsrus Mon 01-Sep-08 19:29:36

Id be pised off too YANBU. Unless you play it naked and then you might enjoy the repercussions!!

benbon Mon 01-Sep-08 21:01:33

to top it all off he has been in cahoots with my mother and she has brought me guitar hero's (my husbands favourite wii game) so i got 2 presents today a wii and guitar hero's my husband has done bloody well out of my birthday!!!

he is definately not getting an apple itouch for his birthday... i might get him a manicure set.. lol

PeaMcLean Mon 01-Sep-08 21:03:53

And your mother's present too?!

I'd be seriously pissed off actually.

QuintessentialShadow Mon 01-Sep-08 21:05:02

Flog them both on ebay, would teach him not to buy YOU something HE wants!

YOu are lucky, though, they are expensive gifts. My dh got me a handheld hoover from asda...

benbon Mon 01-Sep-08 21:05:21

i am but feel like im being ungrateful...

PigeonPie Mon 01-Sep-08 21:09:09

Look up and see if you can find a game you do want and then say thanks to your mother, but explain that you would rather have a different game and would she mind if you exchanged it.

beanieb Mon 01-Sep-08 21:09:12

Get the receipt and change it for somethign you do want. Your husband will understand because he will obviously want you to have something you like. Infact there's no need to even tell him, just do it.

elmoandella Mon 01-Sep-08 21:11:21

YABU , at least he got you something.and yes you are being ungrateful. some people cant afford it, or oh's just dont get them anything.

pull yourself together. either sell it, use it, or hit oh over head with it.

any which way . . think yourself lucky and stop moaning.

starving children and all that....
