Even if you know you're right and they're wrong. Even though it isn't an illness. Even though they're in the wrong thread and that entitles you to say whatever the hell you like.

name and shame

eh?

i have clearly missed something.
but to be fair, sometimes first time pregnancy people do need a bit of a reality check.

And if someone posts something silly they can't use being preggers as a defense for not getting flamed

whats on your mind NiceyChops- what has happend?

Report
AnyFuleKno · 01/09/2008 15:26

There's no need to flame. They'll find out. Oh yes, they'll find out....

Don't care what the original thread was about, as a hormonal grumpy pregnant person I can tell you 100% that YANBU.

"even though you know you're right and they're wrong" ?

No way, they need to be told! Imo.

but yes, name and shame please.

Oh, come on - this is Mumsnet! Since when did we ever cut anybody any slack?

No-one should expect to be treated any differently to any other poster. Can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

Niceychops, in the thread you are referring to, the OP got the hump because we were meant to telepathically understand her complicated history and declare her NBU.

It wasn't anything to do with being pregnant, it was posting incomplete information, in the wrong place.

I am pregnant, feel like death warmed up, with two children under 3, but I didn't get "cut some slack".

Oh, sorry, did I forget to mention it? Well, you should have known

new can of worms

I just know how emotional I was when I was pregnant and I think we should be a bit kinder to others in the same boat.

WWW, ok yes if they are drinking a pint of gin a night, but if it isn't important, maybe at least tell them in a non-confrontational way.

Wondered why you had the hump.

I sent the OP a very nice post when I relaised I had misread her initial post!!

Report
Niceychops · 01/09/2008 15:41

Yes Lou, she omitted some information and got upset, but she posted something pretty light-hearted and got called a silly bint, a fat biffer and told 'you may have been ill in your previous pregnancies but that means fuck all'

Yes she posted incomplete information but who cares? Can we not cut her some slack is all I'm saying.

Gateau

Thank you - i do appreciate it.

For the record. I asked if I was BU? I had no problems with any one saying i was unreasonable - it was the harsh replies that made me cross. I made a mistake posting in AIBU as this is obviously a place for vemonous sorts to vent! And not for a bit os sympathy - although thanks lovley MNtters who gave thsi.

Gateau my old nemesis! We meet again! But this time the advantage is...probably still yours.

Sorry what is going on here ?
No slack necessary.
And I say that being currently pg.

wahwah · 01/09/2008 15:45

I'm all for being nice to each other, but I do feel like shouting TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOURSELF on occasion. If you might be upset by what people might say, then don't invite an opinion whether you're pregnant or not.

Report
Gateau · 01/09/2008 15:46

Why is the advantage still mine, niceychops?

Gateau, we locked horns on a previous thread. i was just being sily!

Oh..... now I'm with you.
I read that thread.
I thought Cod was a bit harsh. But I just thought, in the grand scheme of things, who cares.
Coming from woman who has just spent the last hour in bed, resting, post massage to help sore muscles after diabetic hypo, whilst 29 weeks pg.
Yep, life is too short to worry about such things.

Report
3andnomore · 01/09/2008 15:48

but wouldn't that mean that we have to know which mumsnetters are pg and which are not....gosh...that will be a lot to remember

Report
Gateau · 01/09/2008 15:48

I lock horns with loadsa people on MN; it's part of the fun!
Then I move on.

just opened the thread that was linked too...obviously with that op one knows she is pg...says in da title...but I thought a lot of posters weren't serious when replying with things like lazy cow...

Oblomov · 01/09/2008 15:54

Sheik, and I think the fct you LOOK it, rather than actually ARE, deserves more sympathy.
You ole lardy face
