AIBU?

To ask my neighbour to wash her car?

It is so filthy, and looks especially bad in the sunshine. We have a shared driveway and I hate that my guests have to see it as they arrive.

If she can't be bothered to wash it (and she spends enough time smoking in the garden every day to wash it ten times over fgs) she could at least park it in the garage.

FFS what next???

Get out there and do it for you, as you spend enough time on MN complaining about it to wash it twice over lol

Have it towed away, or just ask them to move

They are good neighbours in other respects, they keep their garden neat and rarely hang washing on the line. I wouldn't want to upset them by mentioning it, but it is driving me mad.

Mine is absolutely filthy, It dosent bother me, I can't be bothered to do it either, it dosent put my children in any danger or anything, I will get round to doing it eventually .

TBH if a neighbour knocked on my door and asked me to wash my car I'd hand her a bucket and sponge and tell her if it bothers he that much she can do it.

pmsl is "suchapefectday" an anagram of something like "bored and trying to wind you all up"?

Have her removed by the police.
A dirty car?
In public?

You might want to put your net curtains in for a soak though, they're covered in dirty finger marks from where you keep twitching them.

I expect your neighbour will be along in a minute to start a thread about them.

I think instead of dealing with her directly, you really should get in touch with your local council to get them to issue a by-law about it - they'd love to hear from you. Why not write them a nice long letter - purple ink usually gets their attention best, or maybe a nice crayon?

We moved to this area as there are certain agreements everyone must adhere to. We spent a lot of money on this house, just for that. I think it creates a safe environment and a nice community feel. It's a shame some people don't want the same.

Washing can be hung out but not overnight, that's reasonable isn't it?
