to be annoyed with DH for planning to go out on my birthday?

We have a system in our house of booking nights out on the calendar, with the assumption that the other person will stay in and babysit. Its my birthday in a couple of weeks and just spotted on the calendar that DH has booked the night out leaving me to put DS to bed. I'm 7 months pregnant. Hmmmph.

Maybe he is planning a surprise?

No, I would be annoyed too. In fact, I'd be really pissed off! Silly question, but does he always remember your birthday? Just that my DH needs reminding and has done so for the past 13 years

I doubt its a surprise unless he's planning on taking me to the football match with him!

Maybe I should remind him, but I think I know my place with respect to his beloved football team!!!

My DH will be skiing on my birthday, but he did ask me before agreeing to go.

I don't expect him to be around for my birthday, but I do expect him to consult me before arranging anything (irrespective of birthdays).

Poor you Bertiebear, i would be upset too.
I agree with KVC. Perhaps write your birthday on the calendar. or how about you suggest you go out the following night, TOGETHER? See if he can arrange someone to babysit for a couple of hours. Even just a meal the two of you i'm sure would be very nice.
Or just say Cooly "Gosh you have forgotten my birthday, look you've put your having a night out". That might make him feel a little guilty

Nothing ever happens on my birthday

this is weird if you don't mind me saying so. A birthday in my family is very important and I wouldn't dream of being anywhere else other than with my (now ex) partner on her birthday!!

Perhaps you should write your birthday on the calendar!
