AIBU?

Go say it's wine o clock?

To want to have a bottle of wine now and go to bed at 7.30 in the hope I'll sleep this pain away.

I have excruciating period pains and painkillers aren't working and I've had a very very busy day at work.

DH isn't being understanding and all he is saying is 'what do you want for tea, I'm hungry', not listening to me when I say that I am feeling sick through the pain and don't want to eat.

Should add, pains have been getting worse and they are still there if I aren't bleeding.

I have the mirena coil and have to go for an examination in the morning

Go to bed and take the wine with you. Let DH sort his own tea out.

Hope u feel better soon. Have unexpectedly ended up with 2 kids round for a sleepover, when I should have been losing mine to someone else's (their adult son rang so many times during the night, they didn't get enough sleep) so I've copped the lot. After a 2 night trip to London with 2 manic 7 year old girls too

Sorry to rant, but just wanted to agree, it's wine o'clock here too. And I don't normally drink at all.

Enjoy!

I feel your pain. I posted a period thread earlier. Fucking awful.

I am half way down my 1st (and last, judgey types!) bottle of wine.

I am feeling a bit better.

Even though there is still a tap gushing between my legs.

Pain hasn't eased. I am totally fed up and to make it worse (not told hubby) but they are testing hormone levels etc as I keep getting very very warm etc. If it is the menopause I will be distraught, I have always hankered after another child even though DH says no.

Are you taking enough painkillers? You can alternate paracetamol with ibuprofen - take some paracetamol and then 2 hours later take some ibuprofen then 2 hours later take paracetamol, etc

Also, are you taking a strong enough one, and the full dose? (sorry if this seems obvious, but I'm always amazed by those who only take half or the lowest dose!)

IMO anything to 6 makes it wine o'clock. 5.01 anyone??

When this problem was at its worst about 2 years ago, I was on tramadol and anti-inflammatory and all they did were knock me out and the NP I saw today was reluctant to give me those for some reason.

He has got me on Solpadeine max 2 x 4 times a day and mefanamic acid 1 x 3 times a day, but, as I suffer this pain constantly I don't know if I can take them week after week, month after month etc.

Sending sympathy to lovemyshoes.

p.s. if anyone sees me elsewhere on the board this evening - ignore any ramblings, I have had one large glass and I might think I am being funny but the rest of you might not!

LOL onepieceoflollipop. I've lasted a bit longer than anticipated, but, i've taken some knock out drops and will hopefully sleep.

Dh is doing my head in, tried to explain what is going to happen and all he has said is 'you've got that many things wrong, what am i supposed to say/do etc.
