It's at the end of September apparently.

Apparently it's a fundraiser for a very worthy cancer charity. Which is fine. Good, actually.

But what's with the effing name???? hmm

Oh its a bit of a laugh, last year I bought the yummy mummy & dishy daddy mugs for myself and DH and the glamorous granny & groovy grandad mugs for my parents. They thought they were fab.

im not sure what the name has to do with the fundraising really. But is a fantastic idea

Makes me feel queasy.

LynetteScavo Wed 27-Aug-08 22:29:34

Cod they make money out of it, so they're not mega twats are they?!

Or are you calling every one on this thread a twat? hmm

PeaMcLean Wed 27-Aug-08 22:32:13

But would they make more money if they had a less vomtastic name?

Would do a Macmillan Coffee morning first. Same principle. Similar timing.

'Pop the date in your diary!'

I do dislike this use of the word 'pop'. It's infantilising. 'If you could get up on the couch and pop your pants off for me!'

Also, more seriously, as Pea says, doesn't it clash with the Macmillan thing, which the world and her husband are doing?

LittlePushka Wed 27-Aug-08 22:35:46

I hate the phrase yummy mummy. yuk yuk yuk.

In fact, way up north we do not have mummies, we have mams.

greenandpleasant Wed 27-Aug-08 22:37:31

how about "knackered shouty saggy Mummy week"? I'd pop that in my diary ... oh no it's already in there, all year.

ronshar Wed 27-Aug-08 22:40:03

greenandpleasant, thats odd I too have that in my diary.gringrin

donnie Wed 27-Aug-08 22:40:18

not being funny but what is that weird pink thing on the baby's head in the link? is it some kind of failed head decoration?

LynetteScavo Wed 27-Aug-08 22:44:53

I bet there is a thread over on "the other side" at this very minute where they ae all extolling the joys of yummy mummy week. Only none of them are, are they.

pointydog Wed 27-Aug-08 22:46:54

Count me out.

PeaMcLean Wed 27-Aug-08 22:53:37

Lynette, you go to the other side??? shock

LynetteScavo Wed 27-Aug-08 22:57:01

No I don't!

I did go once, and registered, but realised they use your real name, so never posted. blush
