to not think I should have to compromise cleanliness over price at holiday accommodation?

I am staying in Blackpool at the mo for 7 nights until this Sunday. I paid £100 for 7 nights in holiday flats which is brill, right? Not quite! for the price i expected basic but the place is filthy! Nothing that a general scrub around would fix but i've used a full large bottle of disinfectant over a period of 3 days and feel the need to wash my hands every second i touch something in the flat. All the plug sockets and plugs are grimy with dirt. the microwave looks new but on the outside it is full of griminess and dirt. the cupboards above the sink, if you look underneath them, they are orange with grime. i went to eat something the other day and the plates still had bits of food on them which i easily washed off. the worst bits were when i opened the cutlery draw, oh my lord, the cutlery tray has black dirt all over it and in the corners and one of the spoons has food still on it...bleurgh. the bathroom is just disgusting. i've had sink baths and wiped myself over with baby wipes for the past 4 nights as the bath has hairs in (looks like pubes) and in a corner of the bathroom window (which you can't see because the wall sticks out) is a huge lump of someones head hair. it's disgusting. i have tried to get hold of the proprietor but no one seems to answer their damn door except i can hear them moving about the building quite noisily at regular periods throughout the day.

i wouldnt have stayed there, we went to blackpool recently and some of the places we passed made me cringe!..we stayed in premier in but that may have worked out more expensive..but £100 for a full week is cheap, although cheap shouldnt mean dirty!

You should compromise facilities but not basic cleanliness. tbh if it isn't properly serviced I'd question whether other regualtions are being adhered to, perhaps even safety ones. You could contact the local hoteliers group and tourist office to complain. Weren't you there just a few weeks ago too?

have you paid in advance ? If not I'd be tempted to withhold some and take photos in case of dispute.
