I want my money back

I purchased a set of Mac make up brushes on ebay. They have arrived and are not orginals. The seller has closed their account so I raised a dispute through paypal and she replied that if I post them back she will refund the money.
Does anyone know if I have raised a dispute will paypal be holding the money now till it's resolved?
Thanks

Send it back registered (or recorded -the one to sign on receipt, can't remember which).
At least if she doesn't refund, you'll have proof that she recieved the goods back.
This exact thing happened to me, I bought a pair of trainers and when they arrived they were the most awful fakes I've ever seen, the seller became no longer registered and wouldn't reply to my emails so I raised a dispute with paypal, I sent the trainers back and the money was refunded with no problems.

So don't panic just yet!

Though I'm not sure if paypal can hold the money if they transferred the funds already out of paypal. So you may have to rely on them sending it back themselves.
Can anyone confirm this?

if the seller hasn't moved your payment out of the account. paypal can claw it back and give it to you.

I think that if you win the dispute paypal will refund you the money leaving the sellers account in the negative.

You should wait and see if Paypal tell you to return the goods. Don't just send them back now because then she'll have your money and the goods. At least if you have the fakes you can take them to trading standards if needs be.
