to feel that I know more than ds' s doctors?

We have had a different geneticist looking at ds's x-rays - and he has come up with this different type of dwarfism which from all that I've read (and I've read a lot) I feel there is NO WAY ds can have. On the other hand though I feel I must be very conceited to doubt these learned consultants.... then again they haven't been right with a diagnosis too far, after over two and a half years of looking...

a DNA test will show in due course who is right

YANBU - just stressed out and fed up. You know more about him, they will know more about their specialty, together hopefully you will get the answers you need. [hug]

Must be so incredibly tedious. But ummadam's right, you are the expert on ds, they are (one would hope) the experts on genetic conditions. Somewhere in the twain the answer lies...

Reminds me of one of dd3s paeds we saw last week (first visit to him since dx from geneticist), "oh I knew those marks on her legs were important, that's why we needed further investigation". Sorry, total sh*t! He was the one that kept saying there was nothing to worry about, I lost count of the number of times he refused to refer to a geneticist, it was one of the other paeds that eventually did the referral for us! So of course when if you are proved right, your learned consultant will of course have seen that coming and was just testing to "rule out"!
