what you need, Nemo, is more Playmobil. Believe me, however strong your ishoos, there comes a point where you just can't do it any more. I did try to sort Knights horses from Roman horses, Police horses and farm/random girl with pony horses when tidying DS's room at the weekend, but in the end decided the working horses could do with a holiday anyway and put them all in the 'farm' box. The Roman chariot drivers will just have to entice them back when they need them.

LMFAO

YANBU. And if you have issues so do I. DS has a big open out book that has velcro vehicles fire engine, ambulance, police car etc and I fix them all up in the right spaces then he pulls them out and puts the ambulance in the farm, fire engine in construcion site. OH THE CARNAGE.

Although I'm saying this my little sister(2.9MTHS) takes a freaky if u tip her building blocks out of there basket. Is funny though I must say she runs around shouting 'No messy tidy up time' LOL.

pmsl, you need to get your own set up.
Dd got one with teeny, tiny pegs to hang out washing on a teeny, tiny line. How I loved it. And how it made my teeth itch when she unpegged the washing I had so carefully hung and let the pegs fall on the floor.

I've obviously got the wrong idea here - ds has book with 'fuzzy felt' type areas and animals and certain animals are meant to go on certain pages (eg sea, arctic, jungle etc). He gets most upset when I put them in the wrong place (on purpose)

I really hope DD2 loves Playmobil and dolls houses etc...

DD1 HATES all children's toys.

pgwithnumber3 · 21/07/2008 12:21

Good lord, you must have taken out a second mortgage to buy all of that Nemo, I take my last message back, I hope DD2 ALSO hates all toys as well!

You have to play with it once the DC are in bed and get more. Barbeque man is a handy chap to have around - he provides a catering service anywhere from arctic expeditions to the mansion roof-terrace. And the bin men are extremely versatile, although prone to sneaking into the mansion bathroom and spending hours on the toilet.

lol pg to be honest most of the sets have been presents given by grandparents..
ds is already listing what he would like for his birthday and christmas this year..luckily both dds also love the playmobil even if are they are still a little young for it..DD2 has a playmobil 123 box but she refuses to play with it instead favouring the 'proper' stuff

i put away ds's wooden train set for a month as i got so overwrought when it got broken apart evey time.

all the toys in the playroom have to be sorted according to type and set much to dp's disgust.

i actually feel a little nauseous when all the toys get jumbled together

ishoos doesn't even cover it really does it?

sounds fairly similar to ours (I am avoiding counting/listing as I think we may have more than that) and I would add that we have actually bought very little of it - once friends and relations caught on to the fact that it was a popular present option it came flooding in

Fortunately for me it all now lives in DS's room, so I don't have to witness the mixing up - although TBH I think it's more fun when (for example) the police all go for a day out to watch the gladiators and the ambulance is used to take away the injured tiger at the end, or the aeroplane / airport are used to take people on holiday, where they then go for a cruise on the pirate ship.

You're missing the trick here, pg.

"Dear relatives,

We are buying the fantabulous really practical Playmobil castle for the DDs for Christmas/Birthdays.

They would really love some other stuff to go with it, so if you are stuck for ideas then any Playmobil sets would always be welcome

love from Pg"

Next you need some brainwashing so that your DDs regard a £1.75 Playmobil special as the best treat/reward/bribe ever

..and you're away

BTW you cannot have that castle without having the robbers

DS2 spends hours perusing the playmobil catalogue - cheaper than buying him comics.
I'm not going to admit how much of the stuff we have. And the stuff I have in my 'gift closet' awaiting distribution.

LOL stealth, need the Dragon to protect the beautiful princess from the terrible robbers.

Report
Sim43 · 21/07/2008 12:40

It is far too expensive for what it is.

Report
stealthsquiggle · 21/07/2008 12:45

The dragon is cool - DS needs to find his and get him to hospital (which we don't have ) as we found one of his wings in our weekend tidy-up

Of course you may need some police/knights to back up the dragon. Then the robbers will call in their safe-cracking friends as support.

..see what you started?

and I see no reason why I you should grow up/out of Playmobil - my DM still loves it!

Fecking hell stealth, now the children will never see Mummy as Mummy will be decorating a room with a landscape mural so the Playmobil castle, princess, robbers and dragon look just right!

I know its not the same but when I was a child my dad would put the lego man on top of the lego train and drive the train under a bridge to knock the man off, made me throw a tantrum every time! Much to my dads amusement
