bit of background!! i have an older brother and younger sister who both get a fair ammount of financial help from my parents, nothing really HUGE but a fair ammount of help all the same.
i have always been really independent with money and hate even asking my parents for £5 till i can get to the nearest cashpoint.
dh and i are taking the dc to france in 2 weeks time, we dont have a lot of money at the moment (dh accepted a promotion working away from home which is good in the long term but short term we are spending more while living apart) and have really budgeted for our holiday and quite proud that we are still managing to go away this year when it would have been easier to just stay at home.
i have already had words with my mum who said she was going to pay money into my bank account and told her i was not comfortable with her doing that, now she has offered to give me her credit card so that we can put any extras on it and use it in a emergency and we will "settle up" once we are back. which really means she will never let me give her a penny.
to be honest it would be handy to have it for emergencys, i dont have a credit card so if i ran out of euros and my bank card did not work for any reason we would be in trouble, but i still have issues with spending her money. even though i know that she feels bad about helping my siblings out and not me.
would you take the card and be gratefull or stick to your original plan and not acept it even though it may hurt her feelings?
