at pils at the mo, they are very kindly putting us up til our new house is ready next weekend (was supposed to move in this weekend) and we've been here since monday.

I am going nuts.

i cant do my own washing.

i cant make a cuppa when i want one.

and today mil told me that i was spoiling ds by still letting him have milk right before bed. that is why he wants a wee in the night and he needs routine and structure.

i have always been v relaxed and allowed ds to lead the way. when he is tired, he grabs his comfort balnket and pjs and tells me that its bedtime always at around 7pm. i would rather he have milk than tea as she suggested. and i dont want to cc train him (he's 3) when he goes to sleep with minimum fuss.

just need a rant!

So what are you going to do to celebrate once you get your own space back?

I'm the same when I've been staying at a hotel. I like my tea in a mug - a big one and sometimes I want just a slice of toast in my PJs not a full English.

We're all still kids to our parents. Will you do the same to your DS when he and his have stays with you?

I remember so many things I wasn't going to do when I was a parent

Can you use them as free child minders and get yourself and your DP a decent Saturday night out, and a bit of space?

They might appreciate the space, as well as you, if you go out - MIL could even get her own way with tea before bed.

Isn't tea a diuretic and cafine is a stimulant - excellent sleep inducing properties.

Better to moan than bottle it up.

Glad to hear your letting DH have the whole bottle of wine after sex - theres an organised mind.

lissielou - i remember sharp words from my dad when my ds5 was a few months old and he was crying and moaning when he held him. He made some comment about he needs to learn he will not be stood up every time he moans.

Well - I walked over and took him from my dad and he made the comment to me 'you're making a rod for your own back' I just smiled and replied well it's my back not yours.
As I picked him up he did the biggest burp ever. He never questioned my judgement again

You know your right so just smile and carry on. Anyway Tea contains tannins which reduce iron absorbtion and shouldn't be given to under 5s!!!!
