manager - married
flirting outragously with a member of staff - to the point of doing her work for her ( not my manager so am not fucked but i can see how other staff members sighing and eye rolling) and i kow pissed up gossip to boot wink

stayed late at work last night as so locked up.

i decided to raid the stationary cupboard - having previously told the Office manager ( quite a senior guy but mot my manager) that i would

the building was empty

so i snooped in managers office

i decided to go through the deesk draws

found

a

mobile phone

turned it on

and looked through it

YABVU. It's none of your business.

Madlentileater Fri 11-Jul-08 16:04:11

this is a bit beyond snooping, imo. Snooping would be 'glancing' at mail left open on a desk in a room you shared.

ChopsTheDuck Fri 11-Jul-08 16:05:02

blimey, secret agent custy! Yes yabu.

FabioTheLiterateCat Fri 11-Jul-08 16:07:56

Go back and snoop the voice calls and come back and tell all - just us mind grin

You will get caught you know this don't you and then you could end up with a whole lot of trouble that you didn't bargin for. These things can turn nasty and although you are not involved you have involved yourself and got in the middle.

It's normal to be curious of other's lives. I personally don't think there's anything wrong with it.
YANBU.

LobstersLass Fri 11-Jul-08 16:17:36

Well let's hope that there aren't hidden cameras in the office eh?

combustiblelemon Fri 11-Jul-08 16:18:21

My! You're bloody thorough if that's your idea of snooping. You wouldn't like to come and clean my house would you?

Make sure you delete the call to his voicemail afterwards.wink

Very unreasonable and a complete invasion of privacy over something that is after all not of your business

but very mission impossible non the less grin

OomphreyCushion Fri 11-Jul-08 16:22:00

Did the secret phone actually have the words 'secret phone' written on it?

If so, look again for 'secret perfume', 'secret underwear' and 'secret condoms'.

They are all part of the 'Weasly Bastard' kit from adulterers.com.

(I wouldn't have snopped, FWIW, but mainly because I would have been scared of being caught.)

piratecat Fri 11-Jul-08 16:23:21

that is ott snooping, i am shock.

Madlentileater Fri 11-Jul-08 16:23:45

If someone went through my drawers and took out my phone and turned it on I'd be very, very pissed off, and if it hppened at work I would make an official complaint.

Tortington Fri 11-Jul-08 23:19:38

no i didn't think i was being unreasonable either - he should have locked the drawer - tantermount to asking to be found imo

grin

PMT Fri 11-Jul-08 23:29:44

YANBU

what did the messages say?

unknownrebelbang Fri 11-Jul-08 23:35:31

One of our managers does lock her drawers, and they were broken into by a member of staff.

No secret phones though.

My stuff gets rifled occasionally. (Fk knows why, there's nothing interesting there).

You may need to work on setting some boundaries for yourself [understatement emoticon]

gemmiegoatlegs Fri 11-Jul-08 23:47:51

gemmiegoatlegs Fri 11-Jul-08 23:48:19
