I’m on a few pages on Facebook and people have said they have cctv in their house before I even knew about this case. So it is a “thing”

They had cctv in their living room. She had set it up because she was worried social services were going to say she was hitting him so set it up to prove she wasn’t. Set up her own downfall really!

Because they themselves put the cameras up. I think they were trying to "prove" they weren't abusing him, but were too stupid and evil to remember not to harm him on camera or audibly all of the time.

I know the official excuse is to prove to SS that they weren’t hitting him but a deep dark part of me wonders if it’s actually because they relished watching him suffer.

Mixed reports. Apparently she was advised by a friend to install it as it made her seem more trustworthy to social workers i.e. why would you have a camera if you have nothing to hide.

Also, she apparently ‘relished’ seeing little Arthur in distress (she was constantly sending Thomas Hughes videos and recordings of him). I imagine being able to watch him in distress on her phone from another room was something she also ‘relished’.

Only the living room had CCTV and she was careful not to hit him in there.

@SoniaFouler I’m sure it would have come up when their devices were seized (assuming police can see activity from devices on the dark web??) but it wouldn’t surprise me

Wouldn't you assume it was because she set it up inside her house? People have indoor security cameras, nanny cams, etc.
