AIBU to think that lovely as this bunch of flowers is, there is a certain price beyond which makes them a plain rip off? What would you have paid for this? First photo shows how it arrived from the florist - priced for 10 stems+ foliage. Jar not included. Would like to know what others think. Thank you!

Probably 3.99 in Aldi.
Honestly if you paid more, you were fleeced.

(As an aside - sorry OP - does everyone know that B&M now does flower deliveries? They’re fantastic. Sent mum 50 roses when she was recuperating. Various colours and foliage. Ordered at 10pm, they arrived before 11am next day. £39 inc. delivery. 50 roses! B&M is not printed on the packaging.)

£25-£30. There's lots of cheap filler in that bunch.

I've seen better in Tesco for a tenner. I'd not pay anymore than that for them as not many flowers more foliage.
Who ever paid for these has been ripped off.

£5-8 maybe.
I suspect the answer is £12 though at £1 per stem plus foliage.

£25-30

Thank you for your guess - I think yours is quite reasonable, considering Central London florist. Also slightly biased because I do love anemones.

Assuming you are paying maybe £5 for delivery maybe £20-25 total.

I wouldn’t.

Oh dear, why not? Do you grow them perchance? (Lucky you!)

Because they look shit! Grin that’s why. You don’t have to grow them to see that.

From a florist I’d expect them to be £25-30, from M&S £15 and Tesco maybe £12. I think you’ve crammed them in the jar a bit, in a wider necked vase they’d look more special and the actual blooms would be more visible instead of half hidden by the foliage.

I'd say £30 to £40 from a florist and delivered.

Oh for the shame of it - this is exactly how it was arranged by the florist, who took an awful long time - think Rowan Atkinson in Love Actually - full of sales patter. She tied it with twine, this is how she deemed fit, I simply removed the wrapping and sat them in the jar. Sad

I wish there's an Aldi near us! I know they're £5 for 10 stems at M&S (when in season) - even though they'll just be cut stems as opposed to a tied bouquet... not that this particular bouquet appears to have required much "bouquetry" skills either! Thanks!

Jeez, glad we no longer live in London.
They’re just not worth receiving,

There's hardly any flowers and there's too much greenery. They're only worth about £10 I reckon.

£25 delivered from a florist. Anemones aren't cheap flowers, but there is a lot of foliage. I think supermarkets skew our thinking on how much flowers cost a bit, best way is to get some of the fancy stuff from the florist then pad it out with supermarket so you can get a lot of lovely arrangements without breaking the bank
