They really are. Selfish hormone driven cock wombles.

I think they should all be forced to live on an island and only be allowed to return when they are sane.

AIBU??

I must admit, sometimes I do feel like sending my DDs age 16 & 14 to an island Grin

I hear you - I really do - I have 3 (one 13 in a week/17/19)

I am counting down the days until the big two go to Uni

However do not overlook their humour, resilience, occasional acts of housework and tea making skills - they aren't always awful - and they grow out of it x

I was a massive prick. I'm nice again now. I hope.

I was an absolute nightmare so it'd take a lot for me to banish my offspring.
I wouldn't mind going to the island with them actually and live a bit.

I was horrendous until I was 19. My poor bloody Mum.

DD is 13 now and I have a feeling payback is starting.

I probably wouldn’t say it in those words OP 😳 but yes, teenage girls can be as challenging as teenage boys!

IME, teenage boys also go through this, but a year or two earlier... YANBU.
Thanks and WineCakeGin for anyone affected.
Also IME, it all blows over, but you never really stop worrying about them anyway. Grin

Tbh, I'm torn between feeling heartbroken at the fact that she'll leave home soon or feeling the urge to give her a one way ticket to some where far away right this minute.

She's 16, I get glimpses of a lovely person every so often, we have some laughs and lovely times, she can be good company. But my god, she can be rude, very cutting, temperamental, selfish and she reduces me to tears sometimes.

YANBU.

I was awful. A proper cock Womble. I think teenage girls are awful younger and grow out of it earlier too. I was probably at my worst at 15. Now 13 is the worst age I think

Mine's 15 and really nice, I mean genuinely helpful and loving. BUT it is just her and me about 80% of the time so I wonder if she kind of has to be nice to me because there isn't anyone else around so if she's horrible to me she's going to be a bit stuffed for company of an evening!

I don’t have any but I was awful! The things I did that my parents never knew about when I was far too young to be doing them. I absolutely cringe and would die if my DC did anything similar.
