To think this was unnecessary and annoying?

I'm a new mum to a now 6 month old and I struggle a little with anxiety so my judgement may be off here, hence why I'm asking. I took my baby shopping today to a busy shopping centre and went into Primark to buy her a few bits, one of which was a bobble hat. I didn't pay much attention to the hat when I put it in the basket so hadn't noticed it was missing a price tag. Anyway, baby started to get a bit fed up and cranky as she was almost due a bottle and a nap, so I decided to get to the tills and pay so I could find a cafe to feed her. At the till the cashier spent ages inspecting this hat and the label, and typing numbers in from the barcode (meanwhile baby is getting increasingly cranky and I feel my anxiety creeping up). So I asked the cashier if there was a problem and she said "there's no tag on this hat so I'm not sure how much it should be". However I noticed the till display had come up with "bobble hat set £4". I pointed out, "it says £4 on the till here?". She said "yes that's for the set though, there's something missing from it" (presumably gloves). I replied "oh that's ok, don't worry, I'm happy to pay £4 for just the hat". This is where it got annoying. Bear in mind baby is escalating the crying at the point and I'm frantically rocking the pram and trying to shush her etc. Instead of the cashier responding "are you sure? OK, no problem" (or similar), she insisted I must pay less because something was missing from the set. She then pressed a bell to summon a colleague and the pair of them spent another few minutes messing with the till trying to figure out how to (in their words) "save me a couple of pounds". I politely reiterated "honestly it's fine, I will just pay the £4 for the hat". Baby still crying.... my anxiety creeping further... Still no response from them as they continued to press things on the till. Eventually the price goes down to £2, and I pay for my stuff. As I paid I said to the cashier (as I didn't want to appear ungrateful or rude as they had effectively tried to save me a bit of money): "Sorry, I just get a little bit anxious when I'm out when baby and she's crying, I find it really stressful". She replied "Oh well you shouldn't feel like that - babies cry, it's normal". I felt this was a little strange and judgemental? That she was telling me how I should and shouldn't feel? (Maybe I am BU here ... I don't know). Anyway, it just seemed to be an unnecessarily drawn out process for the sake of saving two quid, and I also felt repeatedly ignored as the customer. AIBU that they should have just let me pay £4 for the bloody hat so I could leave with my crying baby?! Especially as I stated twice that this was fine and they didn't need to alter the price; and given they could see and hear my baby becoming increasingly upset. If it had been a case of saving me £20, I would have seen the point of waiting it out with a crying baby. But £2? (I shall await the PFB comments ..... 🙈😂)
