Am I being unreasonable to think that it is really no one elses business who Boris Johnson and his family spent Christmas with.
So maybe he did break the rules, but he had been working so hard and the rules kept changing, it is hardly unreasonable that he had some time with friends to relax is it?

Lol. No

The rules should have been adhered to by everyone - the government individuals continually flouting them just shows they have utter contempt for us

He is the prime minister. He is the one who imposed the rules on everyone. Of course it matters.

Eh no...he is the bloody prime minister so should be leading by example!

Holly60 · 19/10/2021 08:41

I take it you also broke the rules then? Either that or you didn’t miss spending it with loved ones?

For those of us who abided by the rules and missed out on seeing family and friends, it feels a tad unfair…

Working so hard? He has a reputation for being a lazy arse with everyone else doing the work. If you impose rules on everyone, but choose to ignore them yourself that makes you a hypocrite of the highest order.

Working hard is totally irrelevant. We all work hard.

“The rules kept changing….”

Is what you are saying that the poor hardworking prime minister couldn’t be expected to keep up with the rules he was legislating and it was all a bit too difficult for someone who attended Oxford University to understand?

Rules are obviously just for the little people, not people like him, Hancock and Jenrick…

He's the one who set the rules!

Of course he should abide by them.

Hypocrite. Philanderer. Lier. Oh poor diddums 'hard working Prime Minister' indeed. What a joke.

So… I didn’t see my family for 9 months including Christmas and my SIL spent the day by HERSELF despite none of us being on furlough and working the whole way through…but it’s ok for Boris Johnson to have a nice family Christmas?

"the rules kept changing" well it's not like he can plead ignorance of them is it? Utter cockwomble. Constant examples of why he's not fit to decide a bloody thing. At least it gives satirists plenty of ammunition. God forbid they'd have to actually take a swing at his politics of hate and division, eh? Hmm

@jgw1 - he's got you well and truly brainwashed hasn't he? It's like a cult. Johnson doesn't know the meaning of hard work. And he made the bloody rules.

I'm not anti Boris but hell yes it's our business! My elderly grandparents spent Christmas alone with a microwave meal. If the rules apply to everyone then they apply to everyone

I just don't understand, he was leading the country in a time of crisis, he maybe wont even have been able to spend the whole day with his young family due to the amount of work he has to do, and apparently it is headline news that he had a few friends round 10months ago.
Seriously is this what we have come to?

Did you do the same?

The rules SET BY THE PRIME MINISTER were that none of us could do so.

Do you value hypocrisy and a willingness to break the law in your political leaders?

Anyway it’s clear you’re just being a faux-naive, goady fucker, so I’m out.

If you’re actually here gathering opinions for Conservative HQ, mine is that he can get in the sea. HTH.

He was "leading the country" was he? What exactly was he doing?

He fucked up. And now it turns out he not only fucked up but he cheated and lied. Again.

Apparently it was the government’s business who I spent Christmas with. Why is the reverse any different?

Seriously is this what we have come to?

We haven’t ‘come to’ anything. Maybe you’re prepared to behave like a serf in a feudal system, but most of us expect some accountability from our politicians.
