Fuming at stupidness of bloody nhs appointment fuck up

Went for first trimester scan this am, early morning, woke early found parking waited 20 min. Only to be told my appointment had been changed, only no one bloody bothered to let me know. Barely slept last night due to worrying about the scan, now have to rearrange childcare and plans again.
I know its not a lot in the grand scheme of things but i am absolutely bloody fuming, and even had a shameful little cry.

Really frustrating but nothing you can do about it now so deep breaths and keep moving forward x

Yes, it’s really frustrating.

My DD has a number of hospital appointments and we regularly get appointment letters dated after the appointment - then we get told off for not turning up

It’s an annoying waste of everyone’s time, but it’s never going to change, so I have a good rant (not at NHS staff) and some deep breaths.

So frustrating, especially when you have to arrange so much to go. Maybe an email to PALS as this is a waste of your time. Hospitals are so quick to berate us for missing appointments when, as said above, we've not even had the letter! I hope you don't have too long a wait for the scan.

I have been getting some nhs letters by text at the moment, they send a link to their portal and you can download the letter. The paper version arrived after the appointment. Can you check if they have your mobile number perhaps that will help things along?

Had similar years ago. Daughter had an appointment booked and we got a cancellation letter so we waited for new date then we got letter with new date that arrived after said appointment then closely followed by a letter bollocking us for not showing up! Wasn't impressed.

They have my email phone number and address, no excuse for not contacting really! Just send a text or leave a voicemail, it isnt complicated.
I should have refused to leave, since i was the first person there im sure they could have given me the first scan. Too late now

I suspect refusing to leave would have just resulted in you being frog marched out by security. Better to just wait for next appointment, frustrating as it is.
