Neighbours washing..

A weird one but i need some light shed please wise people of mumsnet.
I live in a row of houses/flats on a roundabout, right neighbour is a house, left neighbour is a block of flats. Recently i've come home and there is a washing maiden that you'd sort of hang up on a radiator hanging off my fence. This fence is the one that is next to the flats, the flats have no gardens so i'm assuming its one of theirs.
I ignored it the first, second and third time but today i've come back with an ill child and had to get through 2 hanging off my fence and one right in front of my gate with a sleeping 2 year old who's ill and it's just annoyed me.
Would i be unreasonable to tell them to not hang stuff of the fence? I understand they want it to dry but it's frustrated me today!!!

Is the actual washing dangling into your front garden?;just trying to picture the position of the washing?

Oh I have something similar with upstairs neighbours, I live in a gf maisonette with a flat above and they don’t have a garden so they have hung a “device” outside of their window that they hang washing on, now it wouldn’t be so bad but they hang sheets on it that come down and block half of my window so all I see is someone’s sheets hanging over my window. I haven’t managed to say anything but it’s really annoying 😣

Sorry, it's the back garden. Dangling onto the carpark. I think whats annoyed me today is the fact its so bloody close to the gate and i just couldn't be bothered with somebodys underwear in my face

We need a diagram!
It doesn't sound like YABU and many leaseholds have covenants against washing being dried outside.
But, we need a diagram.

If you own the fence then they cannot hang anything on it without your permission. You could Google the block and see if there is a resident group or management company, or you go round and knock on doors and tell them to remove it.

Is the washing hanging IN your garden? Can't work out what's what.

So the washing is secured to your fence, but not in your garden, it's facing the other way? How do you have to walk through their washing then?

Yes diagram please!
Do they have to come in to your garden to hang the washing?
Is the washing on your fence inside your garden?

If it's on your property you'd not be unreasonable to acquire it and bin the lot, a little mean but it's on your property legally.

Because the way the carpark is, cars parked all across the back of my fence leaving a little walk way to get through. Said washing was on the floor of the walk way in front of my gate, and hanging off the fence

Oh I get it, the washing is hooked on to your fence but not IN your garden,it's facing the carpark but was a but too close to the gate ?

Unless you couldn't get in the gate I'm not sure I'd bother saying anything, it's horrible trying to get washing dry on a lovely day when you're stick in a flat.

If it really bothers you then you could plant a fast grown ever green clematis up the fence which would negate the need to say anything.

Has someone picked up the washing off the floor and out it on your fence

If you own the fence, just take the hangers off. Job done.

Set fire to the fence. They won't hang anything off it again.

The most shocking diagram ever. The little blocks by my fence are the washing thats on my fence and infront of gate.

Maybe they think it's the carparks fence, strange thing to do though as it's so easy to steal. You could attach something to the top which would make it difficult to hang anything from.
