Posted in weight loss chat but no traffic... Don't know why I did it.
I'm 3 weeks into eating better and being more active, have just reduced portions and Carb in take really and been more active and getting the steps in. Have felt the weight come off.. I don't have that much to lose, I'm about a stone over the weight I'm happiest at..
I think I've lost about half a stone as my old jeans fit.. Anyway today, I thought I'd have a "planned binge dinner" so ordered pizza and chips.. Within a few bites I felt so full.. Now I'm on the loo and it's just gone straight through me and I feel horrendous.. why did I do it. I just fancied pizza this week.. It wasn't a huge craving, I just thought let me plan to have it then its out of my system, I have no doubt I'll go back to normal tomorrow. Feel so awful. Learnt the hard way.

It's done now and it was only a pizza and chips! Don't beat yourself up about it any longer.

It sounds like you're doing well on your new healthy eating regime - I admire your will power! I could do with some!

I wouldn't worry about it tbh. Keep going

Within a few bites I felt so full.

Did you keep on eating or did you stop at that point?

Are you sad because you had pizza or because it amde you ill?
If the former, you know, pizza is great sometimes food... If the latter. I would be sad too!

Feeling full after a few bites followed by diarrhoea is not normal, even after dieting for 3 weeks?

As for one day off the diet, you just have to get back on the diet tomorrow, not the end of the world and not worth beating yourself up over.

Lesson learned as you say, one slip up and horrendous outcome will keep you on the path! You sound like you are doing so well. Tomorrow is another day Flowers

Take the positive from it. Your body is much happier on your healthy diet and is rejecting the rich high fat food it's no longer used to. No harm done. Drink plenty of water and maybe a healthy snack, as if the pizza and chips upset your stomach you might need the fluid/salts.

You had a few bites of pizza and chips and its given you food poisoning??

Or do you mean you have an eating disorder and now hate yourself for eating a bit of junk food?

Quite agree. I would suspect the fat if it was chippy pizza, didn't sit right maybe.

Just get back on the cart tomorrow.

No point in navel gazing about today :)

It's just one meal on one day of your diet. A drop in the calorie ocean.

It was a cheap pizza..not a reputable takeaway 🤣. I think it's exactly that, my body rejected the fat. Just feel awful now.. Sore tummy :( will definitely be back on it tomorrow. Just wasn't worth the binge or the money!

Get better pizza mext time 😂 That's what I do. Fatty things do often go right through. I mean, lamb ribs do that too but I will nwver stop eating them🙈 Lamb lips. Amazing

It's perfectly normal to eat pizza, burger, cake, whatever on occasion, if you want, and still lose weight (or maintain at the weight you want to be). Whatever you do needs to be sustainable so you can do it for ever.

Anyway, eating 2 mouthfuls and sh*tting your guts out is not normal. I eat pretty healthy most of the time and don't get ill if I eat one unhealthy meal (or put weight on either).

That said, there is quite a possibility this was more psychosomatic issue, you know. If you are feeling this guilty over normal sometimes food.

That sounds like food poisoning tbh.

Sometimes I think I'm going to enjoy a trashy dinner more than I do and just end up feeling ill afterwards rather than satisfied.

Your post reads like you're taking an appetite suppressant or something? As PP said, these reactions aren't normal unless the pizza was covered in cheap and v.dodgy meat?

Report
Feelingit70 · 27/07/2021 22:50

No I definitely dont take appetite suppressants or laxatives! I think it was cheap quality pizza.. It wasn't even that tasty.. I just ordered from a new shop that had opened in the town.

As much as you want to lose weight you have to live too and living means giving in to cravings to get them out of your system. As people said a pizza night isn't exactly the same as falling off the wagon completely and eating rubbishly for weeks on end. Don't think about it (I advise finding something hubby wise for example so that your diet doesn't become your hobby, take it from someone who's been there, thinking about food all the time never works!!)

absolutely not normal even if it was cheap pizza. Could it be norovirus? Altenatively are you using something like Alli or XLS medical? They block fat absorption but if you eat too much fat at once then it will go straight through.

You've done so well - don't feel guilty about this lapse! It would be too much to ask for most people to never have pizza again. A one off is fine as long as you carry on eating healthily again the next day.

It does seem strange to feel ill if you only ate a small amount and you've only recently changed your eating habits. Definitely choose some better quality food when you next want a treat.

Not 3 weeks but after several months of low fat/little bread I had similar reaction. I think it’s fat and white flour definitely doesn’t agree with me. I like the lo dough pizza bases if you like pizza.

Calmdown14 · 27/07/2021 23:04

Isn't this a good thing (once the initial discomfort passes anyway)? You're unlikely to crave it again.
Save your treats for something more worthwhile!

Don’t worry about it, put it behind you. The fat content is probably what made it go straight through you. I’ve realised I can’t overeat anymore, it goes straight through me, like a toilet emergency! Literally a pain in the arse!
