to think it's too hot to do anything

I am in the house, far too hot to go outside, and too hot in the house to concentrate on anything either (WFH very part-time.)

This is the 5th day and I am fed up with it.

I feel like I'm living in Satan's armpit!!
I have first trimester pregnancy nausea too and this heat is actually killing me off and making the sickness 100X worse 🤢

YANBU. It’s totally enervating.

Same!

I keep saying I’m going to get up and do X,y and Z. I get up, manage 10 minutes and I’m zonked. It’s like the house is filled with a thick warm fog. I just want to lie on the sofa and melt.

It lovely. House is cool during day for work, then finish early and go to the beach. I don't want winter to come just yet.

I’m just constantly exhausted at the moment. I can’t sleep brilliantly at night because of the heat, so I’m tired the next day. I take a nap to try and beat the tiredness but the heat is even worse and then I’m even more exhausted.

Currently zonked out in a dark room with a fan on me. It’s still too hot in the room but if I open a window, it a hotter. It’s so stuffy. I can’t bloody win

I had a terrible sleep last night but feel good today.
I think the sun is good. Slightly cooler where I am today (thank goodness) so I got all floors washed and few jobs done.

Really struggling wfh this week. First time I've missed the cooler office.

Problem with the UK once the temperature tips past 80 is it tends to be a humid, oppressive heat.

It's cooler today and much easier to bear ! Lovely

It has been 32C. It was 47C in part of the US and Canada a couple of weeks ago.

Not too hot to do anything, just requires adaptation.

I've got the grandchildren for the day. Got hardly any sleep last night and I just fell asleep reading a book. I NEVER fall asleep during the day.
Fortunately the children were happily playing with the lego box and didn't seem to notice. Roll on the weekend.

It was lovely at work the last few days with the air con on full blast.
I do love the hot weather but it's too much at the moment. Still it's cooler and raining over the weekend and probably for the next 6 weeks.

I just shut the curtains and faff about in my bra and pants. Not a pretty sight by any means but I'm comfortable and the cats don't seem to mind. I walked to the corner shop (clothed) and had to shower when I got back. Glad I'm not working!

Thank you for posting this OP. I was beginning to feel I was the only person on the planet who feels like this.

Don't mean to sound like a misery guts but I'm praying for rain to clear the air.

We're having the loft done atm. The poor bastards are up there in all this hammering away. Roofer started today torching the covering. Its like a scene from hell.

I'm on annual leave from work. I'm half arsed crafting, can't be arsed to go out shopping even though air conditioning is tempting. It's too hot to sit outside and too hot to make a cake.

I'm getting excited for the forecast on the weekend, rain and thunder and perhaps I can get enthusiastic about attempting to make clothes and doing something productive without feeling drained.

@newnortherner111 I have relatives in the US where it is regularly in the 40s but it is a dry heat. They really struggle with the 30s when it is a humid heat.

I just struggle anyhow 😆

Have a massive delivery to put away and our shopfloor temp is higher than outside. Staff are dripping

But we have to get it done...... mostly in masks. Tearing up the huge cardboard boxes stock comes in is a big enough task with out bending down, reaching up and going up ladders..... then there's the customers...

They have air con in their homes in the US and Canada.

I wish people would stop comparing countries that are set up for this weather with the UK. We don’t get it often enough to invest so much in adapting our homes for it. Same with the snow- we aren’t set up to cope with it like they do in Canada because we don’t generally have snow for 6 months of the year!

Nope, it’s fine. It’s hot; drinks, fans, shade. Some of us still have to work outside when it’s hot, you know.

I'm not sure Canada is particularly set up for very hot weather tbh.

Walked down to a local high street and back uphill, good mile away but this afternoon I will do very little and have my feet in water in the garden under umbrella
