My DH and I have 2 dogs and the youngest was sick the other night DH used a sponge to clean it up I have just gone into the kitchen and noticed a sponge in the washing up bowl I text my DH to ask about it hoping that it wouldn’t be the same one that he used the other night and got told that yes it is the one that he used the other night to clean up the sick and he has been using it to wash the dishes he apparently cleaned it before he used it. I have no words is anyone else’s DH that bloody lazy and disgusting or is it just mine. Envy Envy most definitely not envy.

Oh my god that’s truly disgusting Envy. I have tendencies which err on the side of slatternly, but.....no no no.

@Trinacham I thought mine wouldn’t either but apparently he would I feel sick at the thought.

@thefirstmrsrochester I’m no clean freak but I draw the line at using a dirty sponge that belongs in the bin to wash my dishes.

@Gin4thewin4 it really is I feel sick at thought not sure if I should make him rewash all the dishes or if I should do it myself.

That's grim

Beyond disgusting. I have been known to use the dustpan and cardboard, then scour the dustpan/bin the cardboard.

That’s vile, but you know, thinking about it, I really couldn’t say he definitely wouldn’t!

@Leftphalange tell me about I feel sick now and god knows how long he would’ve spent using that sponge if I hadn’t said anything to him about it. Really thought he would know to bin a used a sponge but apparently not.

@Cherrysoup it really is disgusting but I’ve seen how his parents live so it doesn’t really surprise me that he thinks it’s ok to do something like that. Oh yeah I’ve done that before when I couldn’t find the brush. I normally just brush off the questionable stuff that he does but this is a whole new level of questionable.

@Aquamarine1029 it really is he’s been known to do things that are vile before but this is a whole new lever even for him.

@StoneofDestiny I feel the same way and I’m seriously considering throwing all my plates away.

@GYNisaliarWTF I think it might be divorce worthy 😂

@PinkiOcelot haha 😂 I never thought my DH would do something like that.

Was he raised by lunatics? Honestly, who would do this? We're his parents gross, too?

Actually DH seems to have higher standards than I do when it comes to sponges, he moans if I leave the sponge in the sink water. He'd probably use a load of blue roll to clean up, as he has mountains of it.

Ewwww. That’s made me feel quite ill!

Report
simbobs · 13/06/2021 21:32

Mine definitely wouldn't do that, partly because he would have left the sick for me to deal with, somehow managing not to notice it.

Jesus, op, don't seek to minimise the true vileness of this by imagining other people are the same 🤮
That is beyond the pale. I couldn't continue to share a house with him.

Probably not just yours, but certainly not mine.

My DH sprayed bleach based kitchen spray on a sponge the other day, wiped the table and then wiped my sons face. “I did rinse it” he said 🙄

I think my OH would fall in the same category as your DH.

LO once vomited upstairs, instead on containing it in one place OH must have lifted him up so it went all over the the covers, duvet, mattress, side of the bed, carpet. The worst thing was that LO was just having milk at the time, so it was that sour milk vomit. I was at work when this happened, so when I got in all I could smell was milk vomit, that's when he told me what happened, and that he has 'cleaned it all up with wipes'. WIPES!!!

I spent 3 days fumigating that room. Boiling water and flash. Angry

OP you're post has made me laugh sorry mainly because it's the exact reaction my DH got when he cleaned cat sick up and then used the same cloth to wash up telling me don't I know how germs work and he bleached it!!!
