AIBU?

Boy just peed at traffic lights

Waiting to cross the road in city centre and a very jiggly child suddenly pulled down his trousers and pants and peed. Mum had a few more kids so didn't notice and did seemed mortified but surely she should have grabbed him and moved his away? She tried pouring more water over it but it just made it more obvious tbh and it was too late by then!
Aibu to think she should have raised him with better manners than to pee outside? Is this really what the world's come to?

How small was the child? I would rather a young child peed in a drain or against a tree then wet themselves. Dogs pee everywhere.
The mum diluted it, what more can she do? If she moved him he could have peed all over his clothes.

If it was an older child, then yes they should manage thier bladder a bit better. Are public loos open now?

Early years I guess, maybe 5 or 6. I was a few people back trying to cross a small but busy crossing. Hard not to know what's going on

I thought people might be more horrified at having to walk through it

He was obviously desperate and the mum tried to wash it away, not sure why her having a few more kids is relevant?

When you gotta go, you gotta go

Really? A little lad of 5 or 6, yes it's not ideal, but when they want to go, they want to go. The mum did her best in diluting it, maybe she could have veered him away from prying eyes, but sometimes these things happen too quickly. I can imagine your cat's bum mouth right now.

Horrified? They could have just stepped around it, I'm sure they're walking in much worse things!

She had a few more kids with her, so was probably already stressed out. The fact she poured water on it probably means she is knows it's not good. Why bear her up for it any further?

My ds used to pee in the bushes in the park on many an occasion when that age.
He would've wet himself otherwise.
I understand that's not the same as peeing at the traffic lights, I wouldn't have allowed him to do that but if he was desperate I'd allow him to pee in bushes or a tree.

It was actually my child, I thought I get might get a more objective perspective on how awful a parent I was than if I posted saying it was us. I had hold of a double buggy so couldn't grab him and he peed before I could stop him. We were running to the loo but got thwarted by traffic lights. I'm mortified. I did tip the kids bottles of water over it but that just meant we were there longer and it was more obvious. Feel like everyone was staring and judging. He's not been toilet trained v long at all (4 months) and he's just turned 6 so part of me is just proud he didn't happily do it in his pants. Part of me is worried if he ever does it at school!

Ever been in a town centre after about 10pm? Don't, you'll be aghast at the piss situation.

It's better than suffering the embarrassment of wetting himself, dont fret about it.
