AIBU to encourage DH not to quit?

TL, DR: my husband is unhappy at work so wants to quit his job as sole breadwinner and become self employed. AIBU to think he’s nuts and try to talk him out of it? DH works in a fairly senior job that pays £60k. I was previously a sales assistant on a zero hour contract but as soon as I got pregnant I got the boot. So I’ve been at home for almost five years because I wouldn’t earn enough to cover childcare therefore me going back to work would actually have cost us money. I’m fine with it, I’ve been able to spend time with my DD and I breastfed round the clock for 3 years, and also I was able to look after my DM when she was dying of cancer. Also me taking responsibility for house and child has freed up DH to focus on work and get promoted. However, DH is having a hard time at work. He feels undervalued, the company owner speaks to him like crap, he gets given all the work but no say in anything while others swan around doing nothing and making all the decisions. He’s angry and fed up because he’s doing a large part of running the business but still being overlooked and given no authority. Also he’s being prevented from doing anything that could boost his professional profile, such as writing for trade magazines or giving talks at conferences, or doing additional training. Perhaps to keep him in his place? He says he’s had enough. Sometimes he comes home from work and cries. Now my DM has passed and I have £55k from the sale of her house. DH wants to quit his job and live on that money for a year while he starts his own business. I think he’s nuts to give up a £60k salary. I can only dream of earning that much. If his business fails he’s unlikely to get another job on a similar salary. I can go back to work because DD is due to start school but I’ll only get min wage and I’ll be working reduced hours to fit around childcare, so I won’t earn enough to support the family. I’m terrified of what will happen if DH’s business fails. AIBU to encourage him to stay in a job he hates? I feel awful but it pays for our house and for DD to have a nice home and life.
