AIBU?

Viral vid of girl having finger put in chocolate covered fruit....

the child is blindfolded - when the blindfold is taken off, a dogs rear end is put in place of the chocolate fruit - so the kid thinks she's put her finger in the dogs bum.

AIBU and a bit of a Karen (as Ive been called on Tik Tok!) to think this absolutely atrocious behaviour as a parent and the little girl, who was clearly distressed, will have some trust issues now because of this?!

I saw it and thought it was horrible. Practical joke taken way too far

That's unpleasant. If I was called a Karen for daring to express an opinion I'd just sink to their level and call them a Gammon. Women don't always have to rise above it and be the bigger person.

It's the sort of silly stunt that might be considered humorous on a stag do but absolutely not with a child.
How awful.

There's a few of them going around

I saw one with a teenage lad victim too

Um I saw it and laughed, I get your point though. But I doubt she will have trust issues going forward because of it alone. unless there are other issues going on.

made my kids laugh.

I hate pranks, so not my thing. I find it worst when it's young kids, but no harm done I suppose.

refusing to wear a blindfold in advance of a prank is probably not a bad outcome frankly.

Eurgh! I've never understood the urge to humiliate someone you love.

Ugh that sounds disgusting.

I really, really hate the way the Internet has adopted "Karen". It's become such a hateful, misogynistic slur and the latest way of dismissing any women's concerns or worries - sort of the woke insult for men who know they aren't allowed to call women "cunts".

Yanbu, I hate it when people do shitty things to their kids for internet validation. It’s just crap parenting.

Kind of like camp and Halloween pranks; bowl of worms, floating eyeballs in jars.
Personally I hate all toilet type jokes but being my 6 yr old gd thinks the poop emoji is the best I’m doubting lasting effects.

It's not funny at all.

I saw the same 'prank' on fb done on an older gentlemen and young lad. The general consensus in the comments was that it was hilarious and anyone commenting that it was unkind was told 'You sound fun' etc. It makes me wonder about the general mindset of people on SM nowadays.

I wouldn't do it with my own DC online the slagging would follow them for years.
I did laugh at it though.

Agree. I really dislike social media these days. If you don't agree with the trend, then you're a Karen.

I’ve seen this, I do laugh at things like this when it’s adults involved but I hate it when people prank their children, it’s not fair as they don’t understand and it just upsets them.

yeah I've seen this and didnt think it was remotely funny.

very questionable sense of humour those who laughed. a child in distress isnt my particular idea of amusement but people will do anything for likes and views these days even at the expense of their kids.

I'd agree with you if it was actual poop but it's chocolate spread most of the time, people microwave chocolate bars in nappies as a baby shower game which is just as gross and obviously the kids know it's a prank almost straight away

I saw it and felt upset. The child was really distressed.

It's not so bad to do this as a prank in the privacy of your own home. If the child doesn't like it then you can just apologise and move on. However it's completely unacceptable to post it online.

I haven't seen it. I don't think it would cause trust issues but it may cause some other child to see it and actually try it thinking that's where the chocolate comes from - sticking anything in a dogs bum isn't going to end well..................
