To ask how I can lose 2 stone in the quickest way possible?

I know why I’m overweight, and I know a quick fix isn’t usually the answer but I’ve just found out I’m eligible for IVF on the NHS. The only downside is I have to lose 2 stone to bring my BMI below 30.

I’m in shock as I’d got my head around the fact we’d have to use savings/ get a loan and when you pay privately, your BMI is less of an issue.

Apparently there’s no waiting list either so the sooner I lose the weight, the sooner we can crack on. Time isn’t on our side, I’m nearing 40 and have been recommended starting ASAP.

I’ve done meal replacement diets in the past and the weight loss was quick but I couldn’t exercise. To be honest, I’ve done every diet ever. Sad
Any advice would be gratefully received.

5:2 diet combined with cardio worked for me.

@LunchBoxPolice, how long do you think it would take to lose 2 stone doing that?

My sister lost loads of weight for IVF by calorie counting everything and walking lots.

The fast 800, even just for 3 weeks then lowish carb, 16:8 or 5:2. You need to be healthy for ivf too so don’t go mad! I lost a stone in 3 weeks on fast 800 then another stone over the following 2 months. I also began couch to 5k.

I would do slim fast as it's actually nutritionally balanced. They often use it to try to reverse diabetes. You need to make sure you're getting all your vitamins to prepare for pregnancy.

MyFitnessPal good too for calorie counting

I’ve tried multiple diets over the years, the hardest to stick to but quickest results was Atkins low carb. Lost 7lb in one week, did slow down but quickly lost it all. I just got sick of eating eggs and meat.

The following 2 months I was just careful. I don’t eat breakfast.

If you’ve done every diet ever, then you know what works for you - short term - surely.

Anything that massively (to an unhealthy extent) restricts your calories will give you the weight loss.

Are you still eligible for NHS treatment over age 40?

The Blood Sugar diet. Cut all refined weight carbs and all sugar.

Exante! It's a VLCD and pretty intense, but I lost 3st in 2.5 months without any exercise. I'm currently pregnant but will be going back on it as soon as baby is here as I know I can shift the baby weight lightening fast. There's a great support community too, and the prices are really good, averages £20ish a week for all your food, highly recommend

Whilst not brilliant in other ways, you won’t beat a VLCD for speed of weight loss if that’s the most important thing to you right now, which I entirely understand.

I lost about 6 stone doing Keto within a 6 month time period.. fallen off the wagon since christmas and thankfully not gained a huge amount back but i'm getting back on it tomorrow (and sticking to it this time)...So i'd say Keto if you're prepared to 100% commit to it and truly follow clean keto (unlike me, i've always done Dirty/Lazy Keto and that's worked out well for me so far :P)

I will add, I do exercise as well which contributed to the weight loss...around 5 times a week

@Sightforsoreeyez what's dry fasting? I've never heard of that

Fast 800 / blood sugar diet. Anything by Micheal Mosley is what you need here. He’s refined his thesis over the years, so if you google, make sure it’s his latest stuff. Good luck!

Don’t do anything unhealthy. Steer clear of meal replacements etc. I would do some form of intermittent fasting (I do 16/8) and eat healthily all the time. Needless to say no junk!

Google the Human Beind Diet - Petronella Ravenschear. There is a Facebook group and lives on Instagram. You just need to get the book. Weight comes off quickly but it’s challenging at the beginning

I lost 21 pounds in 5 weeks on Fast800. I only ate in a four hour window and had nothing other than water or herbal tea outside of that. I ate 800 calories of nutrient dense food (no junk at all). I didn't keep it off but the weight certainly fell off quick.

Whatever you do, eat healthily and keep strength training while you do it. The last thing you need to do is to lose weight but lose muscle strength or become vitamin deficient before trying to have a baby.

I've just lost 5lbs in a week. I did it by not eating any sort of sugar/crisps etc., I ate breakfast every day, of oats and a banana a small lunch, of fish and salad and in the evening I alternated between a sensible dinner and a very small tea. By sensible dinner, it was chicken and veg, steak and salad, things like that. For tea last night I had two boiled eggs and three ryvitas, with a scraping of marmite. No alcohol.

Walk 15000 steps per day. And track calories aiming for 1200. Good luck.
