... to be THIS upset?

Hi all, I'm 23, a teacher and a first time buyer. I've been looking for about 6-8 months and only a couple of properties have come up in my budget. I am relying on Help to Buy schemes and hope to purchase a 2 bed flat/apartment. On Saturday I viewed the apartment of my dreams. In my budget. Perfect location. Stunning. I LOVED it. Unfortunately, today I found out that one person beat me to submitting their (first come first serve) application. I did everything I can to get mine sorted ASAP and was waiting on my mortgage advisor. I am heartbroken. I literally feel as if I'm grieving this property! It feels pathetic. I know flats will come up again that I like, but I honestly don't see how one could tick all of the boxes like this one did. Any anecdotes/advice/words of wisdom/anything to avoid me sat in bed crying into my McDonald's, would be greatly appreciated xx
