To think my husbands disgusting!

Hi all,

This is kinda light hearted but also really annoying and gross, but tonight's really annoyed me as it's the third time now and I want to say usually farts and bodily fluids don't bother me BUT :- I am heavily pregnant, 38 weeks and 5 days and my husband has come into the bathroom to pass me my pjs off of the radiator as it's freezing tonight (which was very nice of him) but when he was in the bathroom he's farted and left shutting the door which has caused me to be sick absolutely everywhere, he thinks this is funny but jokes on him because he has to clean it as I can't bend down but it's annoying because this is the third time he's done it now, the first was a few weeks ago when I was in the bath he came in to ask me something, farted and left closing the door luckily I wasn't as big then so could get out the bath quickly and be sick in the toilet, same with the second time it always seems to be when I'm in the bath so I asked him if he comes into the bathroom while I'm there not to fart, I don't feel like he really needs to do it there and then, he can wait until he's outside of the bathroom and I think what annoys me more is he thinks it's funny! Am I being unreasonable to ask that until the baby is born (literally next week) to try and not fart in enclosed spaces or should I LTB? I am half joking but it's horrible to be heavily pregnant and then to be made sick unnecessarily, I know I'm being unreasonable as it's just a natural bodily function but I just wanted somewhere to vent and it's not really something you want to share with real life friends blush ugh does anyone else have a disgusting husband or is it just me? grin (he's lovely about everything else and has been a big help in the pregnancy, he just can't hold his farts in apparently!)

God love you, you poor thing, that’s awful.

Yeah totally make him clean it up. Whether you can teach it or not.

He’s an arse. Dirty bastard. I would say LTB but he might come in handy for dc! Hope all goes well when the time comes and you have a lovely happy bundle of joy. Preferably without vomit on him/her if the farty one accompanies you to hospital and the windows don’t open...,,grin

Blackbelt Wed 20-Jan-21 23:42:38

I can see why he thinks it’s funny, but at the same time it’s really selfish to be ok with making you physically sick!!
Did he clean up the sick? I’d sick in his underwear drawer or on something precious to him and maybe he will stop!!
I’d like to think that if you sit him down and speak seriously that he would actually stop. If not then he is a right asshole!!

LouiseTrees Wed 20-Jan-21 23:44:01

Hold the sick in your mouth open the door and spit it on to him. He’s been very unreasonable.

Onedropbeat Wed 20-Jan-21 23:46:10

It’s so disrespectful of him to do it repeatedly when you’ve asked him not to

Once is a joke, a not nice one but can get over that, but more than once and in the vicinity of a pregnant women he’s lucky he’s not already under the patio

theThreeofWeevils Wed 20-Jan-21 23:48:55

he’s lucky he’s not already under the patio
The OP's already said she can't bend down.

LochJessMonster Wed 20-Jan-21 23:50:05

Once might be a joke but when he realised that it made you physically sick, he should never be doing it again.
What kind of man deliberately makes his partner throw up?

SatsumasOrClementines Wed 20-Jan-21 23:51:38

That’s awful. I cannot imagine being with someone who thinks it’s funny to make me vomit.

Doing it once as a ‘joke’ is misguided but excusable. Repeatedly and purposefully doing it even though he knows it not only upsets you but causes you to be physically sick is abusive.

If he ever does it again please aim directly into his face.

What a disgusting piece of shit.

pigsDOfly Wed 20-Jan-21 23:52:07

I can see why he thinks it's funny,

Can you explain why a grown man farting in an enclosed space and closing the door is funny? Because I'm just not getting it.

In addition to that he must know he's going to make his heavily pregnant vomit because she's told him it makes her vomit and it's happened before.

Sounds like he's a bloody idiot to me, and not a very nice one.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants Wed 20-Jan-21 23:54:16

YOU are NOT being unreasonable.

HE is NOT being lovely. No decent loving DH would do that

Tomorrow, tell him seriously to grow up & stop behaving like a complete arsehole. It's NOT funny.

That’s absolutely vile

YourHandInMyHand Thu 21-Jan-21 00:01:37

Urgh. That's vile. Not the fart itself, we all do them. But the fact he seems to be going out of his way to make you vomit by leaving you in a situation where he literally shuts you in with his disgusting fart. Not once, but on more than occasion!!! angry

He does NOT sound lovely. hmm

JustCuriousToday Thu 21-Jan-21 00:03:41

Maybe it's the way I wrote it, he isn't doing it on purpose per say, he'll just fart while passing me something, or talking to me or whatever, I guess he doesn't think about it and leaves and shuts the door, he does the same if we're in the living room, bedroom etc i mean farting, he doesn't just fart and then gets up from bed and leave gringrin I guess because I'm not usually bothered about him farting in front of me he doesn't put two and two together and it's not like he knows it's gonna smell like a cat crawled up his arse to die grin he definitely doesn't have a farting fetish, he just has a smelly bum! It's just annoying because when I tell him I've been sick because of it he laughs but he has to clean it up and he has done, and then he's brought me up a drink and something to eat to make me feel better - I was only annoyed as it was the third time and I hate being sick, I don't think he's an asshole, he is a good husband in other ways and the baby's here next week so I'll lock him out of the bathroom from now on grin

He's an absolute dick.

Does he know he made you sick last time?

Even if he can't hold them in, if he wasn't doing it on purpose he'd open a window, leave the door open, get the airspray out.

Is this your first baby op?
Anything else "light hearted" he's starting Ng doing since you got pregnant?

NorthernBirdAtHeart Thu 21-Jan-21 00:04:18

YANBU in the slightest.

Dontstepinthecowpat Thu 21-Jan-21 00:06:07

That is really disgusting. He absolutely can hold it in, otherwise I don’t think the midwifes will be too impressed if he does that during your labour. Two of my relatives are married to men that do this and I find it repulsive. I know it’s a natural body function but no one needs to make a scene out of it, unless he has a bowel issue he may need to look at his diet.

grapewine Thu 21-Jan-21 00:06:12

That's absolutely disgusting. What an immature man. And he actually thinks it's funny making you sick. I'd be looking at him very differently. I'm actually a bit shocked that an adult is behaving this way.

whatsoccuringnow Thu 21-Jan-21 00:08:13

Ewww. Dirty smelly fecker. Feel sorry for you, hopefully he can control it better in future. I sympathise. I also live with a terrible farter.

katy1213 Thu 21-Jan-21 00:08:41

What an uncouth oaf. You set the bar very low when you chose him.

MissMarpleDarling Thu 21-Jan-21 00:09:08

That's disgusting OP.

MissMarpleDarling Thu 21-Jan-21 00:10:57

I think he lacks basic respect for you. That's sad seeing as you are carrying his child.

CorianderBee Thu 21-Jan-21 00:11:47

He's purposefully doing it to make you vomit? That sounds pretty abusive to me actually.

SchrodingersImmigrant Thu 21-Jan-21 00:12:36

What the hell is he eating🙈

FrankButchersDickieBow Thu 21-Jan-21 00:12:46

Very simple solution. Lock the door when you're in the bathroom.
