Start using Mumsnet PremiumTo think this woman, is the ultimate cheeky fucking cunt (trigger warning)
(50 Posts)Contains a trigger warning as it mentions a still birth.
I am actually gobsmacked at the friend...how dare she!

I saw this on Reddit and couldn't believe someone could be so callous
What a horrid thing. That poor mother losing her baby and then being made to feel it doesn't even matter.
This is the second horrible weird non news article about awful decisions made by parent! So sad
I didn't read the article, the headline was enough.
What a cheeky bitch. Why did she want the gift back? Is she going to re-gift it?
How insensitive? Would she ask for a wedding gift back if they got divorced?
Wow, I hope the poor mum told her to fuck off.
That is actually unbelievable!
If I was the mum she wanted to regift them to, I wouldn't want them knowing that!
Yes, the woman wanted to give the gifts to another woman..
When the mum claimed her baby was being buried with the blanket that was born..the woman requested money to cover the cost of the blanket!
I honestly have no words for this. Poor mother
I don't believe that's genuine.
That story is sickening. Friend must have some sort of problem to be that level of insensitive.
I like to think this is fake because surely no one is this wicked and awful, right?
If it is true then I hope karma comes and hits her round the head, what a silly cunt.

I really hope it isn’t! But then again some people are just horrible and callous
I can't quite believe someone could be so heartless.
I can't imagine anyone would be this callous, and if they were would they give a baby shower gift in the first place?
Can't say I believe this is true.
That is horrible. What an awful person.
A know someone who had paid a deposit to a creche for her baby before the baby was born. The baby was still born and the creche refused to refund the deposit. They had to send a solicitors letter before they got it back.,

When the mum claimed her baby was being buried with the blanket that was born..the woman requested money to cover the cost of the blanket!
And basically implied that a living baby would get more use out of it!
I don't believe this either ... lots of use of the word 'babe' and then asking for the cost of the blanket after the mother said she was biting her baby in it.
I've met a lot of CF in my time but no one, I repeat no one is either this thick or insensitive- I call BS
Burying her baby in it 😳
I can imagine people can be that callous. People say all kinds of stupid things when your baby dies
We withdrew life support from my daughter on New Years Eve and let family know offering for them to come if they wished. My family didn’t.
Four weeks later at my mother’s birthday party we’d politely gone to. My sister and her boyfriend decided to share their drunken New Years Eve tale and my mother asked when we were going to give her grandchildren! They aren’t usually so awful so I just think people cannot handle death.
We’d gone to my SIL and BIL’s house the evening she died and they thought we were acting weird being unable to concentrate on a game of Risk and randomly bursting into tears and my PIL announced a month after she died that they’d given us long enough to ‘get over it’ and that’s just family comments, other people have been just as bad.
People have shown me over the years they can be utter uncaring cunts so it sadly wouldn't surprise me if this was true.
People already gift various things but apply whatever clauses they think is acceptable.
I would say that if someone could be this insensitive they are likely suffering from some sort of psychopathic personality disorder. It's not normal.
I don't believe this happened.
I saw it. If it's true, it's absolutely disgusting.
Really think anyone will say YABU?
Obviously a bizarre sad story if it’s true. And the website you’ve linked to makes Take a Break look highbrow.
Besom
Can't say I believe this is true.
AITA seems to be mostly creative writing so... yup.
