AIBU?

Anyone else could happily live on veggies?!

It’s an odd one. I’ll grant you that!

But anyone else really love veggies above any other type of food.
Steamed broccoli
Steamed Brussels sprouts
Courgetti
Carrots etc

I’m underweight but always have been, as is all my family. I don’t have veggies for breakfast (muesli / porridge / scrambled egg that kind of thing), lunch is soup or a chicken salad or a salmon wrap, snacks are fruit and nuts (could happily live off fruit too I think but the sugar stops me!), but come dinner I often cook up a vat of steamed veg and just enjoy ploughing through. So flavourful. I’ll always incorporate something else but only because I have to in order not to lose weight.... something like chickpea curry, salmon fillet and rice etc. But veg is just so delisch!!

Am I alone?
My visiting cousin says.... weirdo! (Fondly I hasten to add!)

I don't eat red meat at all, and fish is also limited. but I would think steamed veg every day is so boring and I would be tired of eating it every day.

I like veg but not just steamed and plain...that's fine as an accompaniment but not by itself. I love roasted veg though and veg cooked in adventurous ways.

However, I massively crave meat if I go a while without it.

My hangover food is a plate of veggies covered in gravy 😊

The sugar in fruit puts you off? You don't need to worry about this!!

I love my veggies. I prefer them quickly stir fried or sautéed instead of steamed.
I often have a huge plate of veggies with avocado and a poached egg for brekkie and people think I’m weird too.

But..I also love chocolate, wine and crisps.

No.
I mean I love my vegetables but I need proteins and carbs too. More balanced.

The best bit of a carvery is all the veg. You're not alone.

I could easily live without meat until be starving on vegetables alone. I think the only animals that do that are grazers who literally spend all day eating.

Yes you could , but with everything else you've mentioned - your not.

Are you teeny tiny too?

No not teeny tiny!
Underweight but not seriously at all, and absolutely no health issues

If I could live off fruit, I probably would.

I like meat/fish/eggs though.

Not a fan of carbs.

I think veg is probably my third favourite food group (if you separate it from fruit anyway).

But veg isn't filling. You have to eat way too much of it to fill you up.

You do if you intend to live off it!

My favourite is roasted root veg, a piles of roasted potatoes and a couple of big fluffy Yorkshire puddings all with lashings of gravy.
Some roasted leg of lamb with mint jelly to go with it Is nice but not essential.

Had you of posted saying how much you loved chocolate or McDonald's you'd have had 100's of messages agreeing and saying how amazing these items are but because you've said you enjoy healthy vegetables you had an onslaught of negative comments? I do not understand people! I love veggies, absolutely love them! So don't worry about the nasty posts, these are the same posters who then go onto the weight loss chats and moan how overweight they are. Insane and to be honest probably jealous 🤷‍♀️

I love veggies too, but not to the exclusion of other foods.
I do best with a good amount of protein too, low on carbs.
I don't have much of a sweet tooth -cake does nothing for me
I dislike acidic fruits, oranges and some berries.

Onslaught? Perhaps I’m thick skinned but that’s not my interpretation!

Most vegetables need a flavour boost though- soy sauce, cheese, stir fried with garlic etc.
A bowl of plain steamed veg would be dull- although I could eat it raw with some tzadsiki.
