AIBU?

To think that shops are gonna be absolute carnage tomorrow.

I've posted this for traffic.

I have bad anxiety with crowds and queues but I need to go into town tomorrow to pick up a few things from click and collect.

Obviously, news of maybe a national lockdown being announced on Monday.

Will people be flocking to the shops.

YABU - yes I'm going to do Christmas shopping tomorrow.
YANBU - No I'm not going to

I'm thinking the same now 🤦🏻‍♀️ I wished I had like sent the items now to my house instead.

I don't understand why retail shops would have to shut but that's another thread lol

We will be. Done most of my shopping for my children, but DP hasn't for his daughter. We will go to the shops this weekend and finish the children's gifts. Don't care about anything else so long as the children have a good Christmas.

Haven't told DP yet, he's asleep Grin. But I know he will 100% go as this is the first Christmas his daughter will wake up with him on Christmas day and he will want it to be as perfect as he can make it.

See as long as I have got somethings in for my sons Santa presents, I really don’t care too much. Everyone else will get a gift from the internet if possible

I’ve already done my Christmas shopping. For once being organised hasn’t received rolled eyes from DH.

Haven't started and not about to do it tomorrow. I do most online anyway.

I've just about finished our Christmas shopping which was all done online except for a few bits which were bought early on Wednesday mornings... for some reason, shops are very quiet on Wednesday mornings.

I'm so grateful for online shopping. It means that I can keep my vulnerable husband safe.

No, it won't be carnage. I'm in an area that has been in tier 3 for weeks and there wasn't carnage or panic buying then. We have delivery slots for food and shelves are stocked.

Try and think rationally and if you need shopping then don your mask, take a list and go to the shops

I'd like to think that you're right but....

Honestly and I'm not overly proud of this but as DC both have birthdays in November and due to my covid related job loss we had to leave present buying until the last minute which would have been ok without a lockdown. Until a pay date passed. I will need to make some really fast movements for DC to have anything for their birthdays. I'm absolutely crossing everything as money should come in Monday morning and I am hoping the announcement or start of a lockdown gives me Monday to at least get something.

Christmas....well I have no damn idea but I will figure something out.

Usually I'm done by August. Now I'm beginning to worry , I'm the furthest thing from a panic buyer but in this case I will have to get what I can at the last minute.

I’ll be doing it online anyway as planned. Pretty much sorted for DD fortunately. And she’s the only one who really matters!

I'm sorry, it's gonna be busy! With people concerned about Christmas presents and also people who need to shop in cheaper shops that don't do online (Primark).
If you can go as early as possible, a lot of chops near me have separate click and collect queues so you might get done quickly.

I am in a Tier 3 location....

But I can guarantee you that people will probably be thinking I haven't started on Christmas shopping and shops might close

I'd recommend people shopping online, keep yourselves safe.

Not only is my Christmas shopping done, it's even wrapped. Added to this the turkey crown is in the freezer and the extras like crackers etc are all purchased.

I will add I'm not usually this organised, but decided a few months ago to buy bits here and there rather than do it all last minute like normal. Can't see this epic feat of organisation ever being repeated though.

I won't be tomorrow.
I've been stocking up anyway.

I usually get the majority online tbh, so that will stay the same. I won't be doing a city shopping trip this year though. I do like a bit of Tiger for stocking fillers, but it's not worth the trip just for that.

I wouldn't dream of going to the shops tomorrow. Luckily I don't have to, I can see some people might but it would have to be a last resort.

Another national lockdown??

We were planning on doing as much Christmas shopping as possible online anyway this year. So I won’t be going out to the shops unless we need groceries.

Not Christmas shopping as that can be done online.

I do need to take my DC for new shoes though and that has to be done in person so yes, we’ll be doing that tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for letting me know Smile

I think I'm going to buy online instead and then just get my click and collect orders tomorrow.
