Pair of knickers that aren’t mine?

Lorgillelm · 29/10/2020 15:26

Hi this is my first ever post so please don’t be too harsh on me!

I was doing a clear out of mine and DP wardrobes the other day and found a pair of knickers pushed to the back of the draws that aren’t mine (wrong size and from somewhere I don’t buy my underwear from)

Obviously I was very confused as to where they had come from, so when DP got home I asked him if he’d ever seen them before and he said no and said they must be mine or someone else’s, maybe from the previous owners of the house??

Context we’ve lived in our house several years, I clear and tidy the wardrobes frequently. We are in a happy relationship with DD so I really can’t understand where they have come from.

These threads pop up with alarming regularity.

Do the belong to a relative who has stayed?

A neighbour who may have mislaid them and a pet bought them in?

Do you have teenagers? Could it be one of their friends?

Left behind by previous occupants?

Have you had any guests staying at your house?

Do you send your clothes out to be dry cleaned/ironed etc and perhaps they have got into the wrong pile?

Do you have children who visit a non residential parent? Again, perhaps things have come out of the washing pile a bit muddled?

Have you any other reasons to suspect him of wrongdoing? If indeed, that is your suspicion it would 100% be mine

I imagine a guest who stayed over left them behind.

A guest who has stayed over and they have become mixed up with your laundry?

How old is DD? If she is teen/adult - could they be hers or a friend of hers?

Has your DP had the chance to have an other woman in the house? If so the obvious answer is she left them ‘accidentally’.

Could be any number of reasons, any of what previous posters suggested, you are clearly worried it's a woman linked to your DH though, have you any other reason not to trust him or have you been thinking something was up before this?

I had this once.

DH told me that they must be my friends, who has stayed months earlier, or am accidental inclusion in our laundry from the service we used. Both fairly plausible.

I’ve since learned that he was fucking numerous different women behind my back.

Whatever bollocks your husband tells you, take it with a pinch of salt.

Have you been on a self catering holiday? Cos if so they were probably in the washer or drier and attached themselves to your washing when you used the machine. I have several socks acquired in this way.

Women leaving pants accidentally don't file them in the drawer. They leave them under the bed, the sofa or draped over the chaise.

If this happened to me, he’d be cheating. We haven’t had overnight guests. I don’t bring home other people’s knickers.

I once found baby socks behind the washing machine. We didn't have a baby. They probably fell behjnd it months before when my friend was visiting. She had one child who tended to put his younger brothers stuff everywhere.

What, and put them in the back of the correct drawer in OPs bedroom?
I mean, I’ve got a Labrador that we’ve trained to take people’s socks off on command but that’s next level, that is.

Unless the DP found them where ever they were after the OW left & throw them in the back of the wardrobe thinking they wouldn't be obvious that they aren't OPs Shock not saying that's what I believe, just that it doesn't matter where they were found by the OP.

Was it in your drawer or your husband's?

Surely if your husband had some sneaky reason to have them, he'd hide them better than in a shared bedroom cupboard.

Presuming they are clean , do they smell like rest of your laundry? As in same powder etc

I don't think your DP put them there after an affair because it could get him caught. It's a weird place for the OW to put them because if she wants you to find out surely she'd put them in your wardrobe? So my guess is accidentally brought in by a pet, DD or it is indeed a fetish thing of your DH.

Two possibilities...

a) He's shagging someone and bringing her knickers home (unlikely, who would bring knickers home? Oh, rapists like trophies, but we're not suspecting him of that yet).

b) They are his. He secretly wears ladies' underwear.

There might be a

c) He steals from washing lines...

Actually, I think you'd better ask someone else. I seem to be making things worse.

I got a second hand chest of drawers which came with an extra pair of second hand drawers tucked behind one of them.

I had this once, a pair of black underwear turned up in the washing about 3 sizes too small for me. I thought there would be a reasonable explanation and there was. A friend of us both had got showered and changed here before a Christmas party we all went to and left them behind.

He could well be nothing to do with it

You are being unreasonable for saying you found them in draws.
