To have let kitchen go because Tesco's do not come in anymore

Just been cleaning the kitchen it is an absolute pit - when Tesco's used to bring the shopping right into the kitchen it forced me to do a little cleanup every week but that has been not been happening for months😝

Also please for the love of God could someone tell me about an easy way to clean up a bin? or a way of holding my rubbish in an easier receptacle than most pedal bins?

My current Adidas pedal bin is soaking in the bath with half a bottle of L'Oreal Dream Lengths shampoo the shampoo was hopeless for my hair let's hope it does a better job of cleaning the bin!!!!! It certainly smells goodGrin

I clean my bin out the back with the hose. Appreciate that's not possible for everyone.

I use a bag in my bin which reduces smells and give it a swill with some lemon floor cleaner and hot water every couple of weeks.

I clean my bin in the bath. Soak it in bleach and warm water, then rinse with the shower head.

I clean my bin in the dishwasher

Just take out one of the racks if it doesn't fit.

With bins, the cheaper and simpler, the better. You don’t want lots of knocks and crannies for dirt and grime to gather in a bin. Buy a cheap swing top bin with removable lid. And personally, I’d chuck away the lid and just use the bin without. Less to clean. Less chance for things to miss the bin and land on the floor. Far easier to clean. Make sure you’re using a bin liner that fits.

I don't have a kitchen bin. I'm in and out to the bucket constantly, but I'd rather that than be boaking cleaning bin juice.

You haven't cleaned your kitchen for months? Bloody hell that's gross. It's not difficult to clean down worktops and sink area every day and cupboard fronts a couple of times a week.
Cleaning often means it's not such a big job and only takes minutes.

FWIW I got rid of the kitchen bin years ago. I have two plastic tubs in the cupboard under the sink. One for general waste, one for food waste. Emptied daily. Wiped out, re bagged and back in the cupboard. No yucky smelly bins here.

Yabu. There is no need to let cleaning slide for a months delivery man or not. Surely they're not going in since March.
You'll solve your bin problems changing the bin bag daily, stick some warm water and bleach in the bin out the back weekly use the water to clean the outside of the bin.

I’ve got a swing top bin. About 45cm high. 18 wide and 45 deep. I used to have a big one but struggled to get the bags out. Plus smaller bags stack better in the wheelie bin.

I chuck bicarb I. The bottom of it and clean it and replace the bicarb of the ‘bin juice’ leaks out of the bag. Otherwise no smell problems.

I am really fucked off now!

I have just rinsed it off in the shower and dried it and I think the lid is broken I never would've cleaned it if I knew I was going to have to buy a new one Angry

Will get husband to check it out when he has finished his phone call as I am really quite hopeless with any parts that fit together so it may not be broken but I really fear it is!

Just the two of us in this house to give you some idea of our rubbish generation.

How I hate housework!

I have a horse and a garden but of course I decided to do this in the dark and cold without thinking it through properly 🤪

We have a bin with 3 compartments, if very dirty they can go in the dishwasher. This makes me very happy because I hate cleaning the bin.

I have been using possibly Brabantia as they don't seem to split And keep the bin cleaner for longer

I'm not sure the horse will help op Grin

Why would "clean" a bin with shampoo ? Haven't you any bleach, Zoflora, disinfectant or other actual cleaners that kill all the germs that must be growing in there?! 😮

We wash up every day and wipe the counters down and I sweep every few days but no detailed cleaning has been done for ages

My health isn't too great so I often use that as an excuse. I want to get one of those little like eating nooks as I am exhausted from lifting chairs up and putting them on the table to mop - It really puts me off the job!

Give it to the horse. Big long nose and tongue will clean that bin right out Grin

I have done just that I am exhausted though and did not enjoy it and I'm really not looking forward to doing it againSmile I know I am one lazy bitch!
