To ask which surname is more naice?

Dear vipers, I am going to ditch my husband's name and I have a claim to either Scott or Stone. I want to know which one of two sounds more glam, more posh.

Scott of course has a lot of associations, from Buccleuch down to Ronnie, Stone to me brings to mind Patsy, (not a bad thing).

Going through the separation roller coaster right now, and I desperately need cheering up. (NC for this, natch)
YABU - Wha hae!
YANBU - Rock and roll, baby!

MyPersona Mon 26-Oct-20 12:39:24

Stone-Scott

Lost me at the use of 'naice'

Coldhandscoldheart Mon 26-Oct-20 12:39:45

Stone
Sharon stone.

You don't have to stick to those two names, though. You could search around for something you feel fits you better, or even make one up.

Hollowtree3 Mon 26-Oct-20 12:40:04

They are very similar. You would need to give us a first name to judge

MikeUniformMike Mon 26-Oct-20 12:40:07

How about a compromise, and change it to Scone.

WitchesSpelleas Mon 26-Oct-20 12:40:13

Stone is much cooler!

flaviaritt Mon 26-Oct-20 12:40:44

I’d sound common as muck with either. Depends on your first name.

YetAnotherSpartacus Mon 26-Oct-20 12:41:10

Scott! And ignore those who choose not to get it.

WunWun Mon 26-Oct-20 12:41:22

Why didn't you do the voting so we could choose which name to vote for?

Stone is much better than Scott.

Drop first name as well and just go with Stone

I like this. Maybe I could go with Teacake, like Flossie.

Not been on Mumsnet long then?

SenorFrog Mon 26-Oct-20 12:45:06

They're both just regular normal names, nothing cool or 'naice' about either of them.

DameCelia Mon 26-Oct-20 12:45:41

@notacooldad really?
Ok, I thought 'naice' had gone down in legend.

unmarkedbythat Mon 26-Oct-20 12:45:56

Invent a new one and be the fabulous Ms Scottstone?

OwlOne Mon 26-Oct-20 12:48:04

I like Stone more

Yesyoudoknowme Mon 26-Oct-20 12:48:05

Noo! When you divorce you get the opportunity to choose whatever name you like - I know, because I did!

I would go for something easy to spell (maiden name was impossible) but not too common (Smith or Jones) but memorable. e.g. Braveheart - Go on, be Belinda Braveheart. or Blackadder.
