Who spends an hour having a poo?

Partner spends and hour having a poo. My father is the same and actually takes a book in there.

If my partner has had a busy day, he will tell me he hasnt been to the toilet as if its a big deal. When i go to the toilet, I'm done in 2 mins at the most. I don't even think about the last time i went or remember any of it but he acts like it has a big deal and a very important element of his day.

Is this a man thing?

I had bowel cancer so I can sympathise - maybe he needs more fibre? But, then again, DH just hangs out in there to the point I don't let him take his phone because I won't see him for hours.

They must poo like a horse to spend an hour in there. The toilet seat is boiling.

Recently, i recognised the signs that my dh was getting ready to go to the toilet, he walked into the kitchen so i quickly kicked his phone under the sofa, he came back in, looked confused, then went to the toilet. Back in no time!

I had an ex who did this; it used to drive me mad, especially as we often had limited time (e.g. a weekend) together. I suppose that wasn’t very ‘live and let live’ of me but I’m the same as you (in & out!) and didn’t really get it.

Isit that you cant get it out or isit because there's loads of poo?

Here's a secret they don't tell you:

They don't need to take an hour to do a poo really they're using the time to get away, especially if they're expected to do something. Because I bet you anything they don't go for an hour long poo at work

Who spends an hour having a poo?

People who have problems shitting, perhaps.
People with injuries down there who have to be careful, maybe.

You might want to consider that everyone else is not you and may not be able to go with such ease.

My hubby is the same it drives me to distraction. Luckily we have two toilets now so it’s not to bad if one of the kids need the loo at the same time.
I’m in our job done wait till I really need to go and that’s that amount of times we have a been late for things as he needs a last minute pop!

I just cant imagine sitting there with my bumhole out for the sake of looking at my phone. I'd rather put my bumhole away and read my phone elsewhere.

Why do they do this?!

DH is the same, he disappears at the worst possible time and when I question why he was gone for 45 minutes, he says he hasn't had time to go all day as if that explains things.

Change his diet and add more water and fibre, the average fibre in diet is very low so just up it slowly or it could cause other issues

Aim gradually for 30-35 g a day and plenty of water

My DH does this it’s so weird! Spends 20 mins in there just looking at stuff on his phone! I can’t bare the thought of hovering above my own poo! I do my business and go! (With the necessary wiping and hand washing obviously)

I read somewhere that women push their poo out while men wait for it to fall out which is why they take so long

Maybe one of the men of mn could illuminate this. We don't have children and my oh does this, so it's not an escape from family life, and we don't make demands on each other's time so it would seem to me that my oh does this purely for pleasure. 20/30 min before departure to anywhere he heads off to the loo.

He's not having a poo, he's having me time. He wants time alone with nobody else around or talking to him.

Haha I understand the frustration my DH could spend an hour in there if he could. I can’t comment too much though as the constipation I had when I was pregnant had me doing a 1.5 hour session on the loo before. I literally left the toilet crying and had stripped all my clothes off 😂

Hmmm seems like a common thing among men. My brothers used to do the same when i lived at home.

They must enjoy it.

@FallonCarringtonWannabe apparently! Can someone ask a man if this is true? I don't let them in my home
