AIBU?

To strongly dislike Nicola Sturgeon right now?

Here to rant that Nicola has gone one step further and banned meeting in homes. She always feels the need to one-up Bojo, and hasn’t even given the rule of 6 she introduced last week a chance to see if it’s working.
Interested to know what the English think - do you think she’s taken it too far, or Bojo hasn’t taken it far enough?!

Seems like such a disparity that in England you can meet with 6 other households indoors and here none 🤯😡🤬😭😭

I saw a tweet that summed it up for me - England says pubs to shut at 10pm, Sturgeon announces pubs in Scotland to close at 9.55pm.

Her rules make much more sense.

She does seem to haver her country's best interests at heart.

I can't get my head around Boris and his 'invite five randomers in as often as you like, that'll definitely help'. Confused

Boris will only end up doing it in a week or so, after Wales probably.

If she’d got a grip on Glasgow, she might not have had to ban people meeting in houses. Other areas have such small numbers - it’s ridiculous.

Are you annoyed with Arlene and Mark too? NI and Wales also have stricter rules about mixing. It's England that is out of step.

I think she has taken it too far and Boris not far enough. For a lot of people these new restrictions in England won't make much difference and we still have the relatively new freedom to meet 5 people from 5 other households inside.

I think it should be two households inside with a sensible number limit like maybe 10 and up to 6 outside from 6 households (or 10 from 2 households) but I know that is really complicated to police which is why they haven't done it.

Nicola doesn't include young children in the rule of 6 which is sensible of her.

Yeah to be fair he does usually copy what she does a week later. It’s just the injustice that makes me mad. It’s not been that bad up here really and yet we’ve always had it stricter.

In Wales we can only have people in our house if they form part of out extended household/ bubble. The any 6 at random rule in England seems very very relaxed!

It's Boris who hasn't gone far enough. NI and Wales have already stopped households mixing indoors, now Scotland are following. England need to hurry up and step up.

Many areas of England can't meet indoors. Greater Manchester haven't been able to since July. North East also now can't.

In Wales we have been restricted to meeting with our extended households indoors (including pubs etc) since lockdown was lifted. We can only meet people outside of our extended households out of doors.

Doesn’t want to upset her fan base. Total joke that other areas with very low numbers of cases are having further restrictions imposed.

@Floatyboat sadly that now only applies to meeting outdoors.
The 6 people / 1 household / not inc under 12s was very sensible - far better than England’s version. Wish she’d have given it a chance.

And maybe that's why it isn't as bad up the road - because it's always been stricter!

@TartanTed exactly! Why not continue with the local lockdown model?
