To shave my toddlers unibrow...?

I feel truly awful asking and I hate that it's even in my mind but the truth it he has one. DS 2.5, has a unibrow. It's not massive and bushy but you can see it.
Someone once made a comment about it when he was 8 months and I have irrationally hated that person since. However it did make me realise that it is noticeable.

So my question is, would you do anything about it? And if so, when?
Surely if I start now and it is just part of his routine then it won't raise any questions, but if I wait until kids start to make fun of him, then he asks, will that impact his self confidence more?

I wish it wasn't an issue and I know it's not a big deal in some ways, but also kids are mean and we've got to live in the real world.

Side note; I was made fun of for having a unibrow (I wouldn't even really notice it was such fine hair but definitely was a bit of a unibrow) when I was about 10 by a mean girl in school.
I went home and plucked it straight away and felt much better ever since.

I'll be flamed for this, but I have shaved my DDs. Not as young as your son, she was maybe 6/7ish and I still do it now. Just go over it when it grows back.

I’d review it as your child grows, when my daughter was in years 1 - 5 her friends had a unibrow and some of the other kids were evil teasing her for it. At two I wouldn’t but if he becomes aware of it when he is older, maybe, as crap as that is to conform to avoid conflict I saw the misery my daughters friend went through.

Why not get rid of it? Yes yes it is young and all that. .. but considering it was big for you when you were young? Or maybe just wait another 2 or 3 years maybe he himself will speak up.

Because it is basically just vanity.

My toddler has a unibrow as well. I'm not shaving it or removing the hair but once he notices it and asks for it to be removed I'll let him. I will never be mentioning it to him.

I don't think it's a good idea to remove it as a. You'll have to continue doing it and b. You'll give him the idea that it's not acceptable to have it. Not great for such a young child.

When she was about 6 months old a beautician walked up to me in Starbucks and offered to wax it for her. So that was lovely.

Mines always had a unibrow. The midwife said it was 'fluff' (i swear she said fluff but sounds odd) and it would go. Never did. He lasted until he was 11 with the blackest uni brow ever now has it waxed often. I never brought it up, he did.

I agree with you about making it part of the routine now so it doesn't even become an issue. Dont wait for kids to notice and tease first. I know its not a problem at 2 years old (or ever, really) but if you do it now he'll never be embarrassed about it.
My 2 year old wakes up with hair like a cotton wool ball. I don't leave it like that. Spray and brush is just part of her routine.

I had a monobrow but I plucked it when I was older enough although I have very heavy dark brows. A girl at school kept making sly comments despite the fact she wasn’t perfect so I could have been just as cruel back with comments about her weight, frizz and acne. There will always be something kid pick up on as they are cruel little bastards. I’d wait and see as my niece looked like she had a monobrow as it was sort of fluffy between her eyebrows but as she grew it kid of disappeared and she haa two eyebrows now.

My DD has a bit of a unibrow. When she was very little I just used to reduce it down a bit by lightly trimming it with nail scissors. Now she is at Secondary school she shaves it back a little. She's not keen on waxing or plucking yet.

I'm guessing the posters saying don't do it, don't have children with unibrow and haven't experienced the unkind comments or looks it can attract.

On the plus side though DD has the longest thickest eye lashes ever seen and will never have to even consider eyebrow or eye lash tinting.
