He wants to ask for this from his mother. AIBU to not like it? It would have to go in the bedroom. I'm not a prude, but her bush looks weird ....... [https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/25379/lot/165/?category=list]

It does look weird, you’re right.

CulturallyAppropriatedName Sun 30-Aug-20 20:34:13

Cripes. It's a nice painting, I have no problem with pubic hair, but 3 to 5k? Lucky bloke.

JM10 Sun 30-Aug-20 20:35:40

He wants to ask his mother to buy him a painting if a woman touching herself? I am a bit of a prude so there's no way I'd do that 😳

I see what you mean. Not sure if it's supposed to be hair or a shadow, but it does look a bit weird.

NearlyGranny Sun 30-Aug-20 20:35:54

That's beautiful! And it will appreciate, too. I would hang that, no problem.

Of course, his DM may well be outbid...

Backtoschoolnotsoonenough Sun 30-Aug-20 20:35:57

Your dh wants his dm to buy him a picture of a woman masturbating?
Is nobody else a bit disturbed by this?
shock

Aquamarine1029 Sun 30-Aug-20 20:36:54

I could live without seeing that monster bush for the rest of my life, but if that's what he really wants, I'd put up with it. It's his 50th after all.

ThroughThickAndThin01 Sun 30-Aug-20 20:36:56

She looks like she’s Just sleeping to me.

DamnShesaSexyChick Sun 30-Aug-20 20:38:16

I like it.

BlackbirdFirst Sun 30-Aug-20 20:38:32

I dont mind pubic hair.

He is now cross I put on this thread its from his mother and should have put from a 'family member'

I think her hand is draped, but it's rather close to wank territory

Why on earth would you want a painting of a woman knocking one out, on your bedroom wall? confused

icelollycraving Sun 30-Aug-20 20:40:29

No M&S gift vouchers in your house then grin
Art is extremely personal. I don’t particularly like the painting. The subject is a slightly unusual gift from a mother to a son.
Art will appreciate so if her having pubic hair troubles you, I guess he could sell it in the future.

BaconsLaw Sun 30-Aug-20 20:40:41

This thread is weird.

I love it! It’s art, and these days art seems under appreciated.

candle18 Sun 30-Aug-20 20:42:16

I could think of better things to spend 3-5k on!

WorraLiberty Sun 30-Aug-20 20:43:01

I don't think good art is underappreciated really.

Aquamarine1029 Sun 30-Aug-20 20:43:54

I'm laughing now because even though my dad and I are very close and not prudish, I still don't think I'd ask him to buy me a painting of a bloke with his cock and bollocks on show. grin

WorraLiberty Sun 30-Aug-20 20:45:46

Perhaps we're all wrong and she's giving birth to a guinea pig?

honeybeetheoneandonly Sun 30-Aug-20 20:46:57

What do you mean "it's from his mother"?
Just buying it for him? (Weird)
She is actually the model in it? (Weirder)
She is the one who painted/would be painting it? (Surely, there are better motifs)

Craftycorvid Sun 30-Aug-20 20:49:13

Worraliberty 😂.

That bush has a life of its own. I wouldn’t trust it not to hop out of the frame and scurry round the house of a night.

OhCaptain Sun 30-Aug-20 20:52:17

He specifically wants it from his mother???

Freud would have a field day with that one!

LaurieFairyCake Sun 30-Aug-20 20:52:51

That's an amazing painting

And the woman has thick, luxurious dark hair on her head - surely we'd expect that sans bush too, no?

That's what mine looked like as a much younger woman when bushes were in

BluebellCockleshell123 Sun 30-Aug-20 20:53:42

I absolutely love it. But a painting of woman with her hand in her bush as a present from a mother to her son? Slightly strange.

I can’t imagine my MIL thinking this was appropriate. And I’m sure as shit that my sons would be horrified if I suggested buying it for them.

Surely there are other paintings?
